regarding Donaire and his opponent. http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2009/aug/17/overweight-over-line/ the LVSun newspaper's website totally blows out the las vegas review journal's website in the sports page content. I hope this isn't against the rules for posting a link to a newspaper website. Oh and for you pinoy fans who like college football..UNLV's got a half pinoy football player named Philip Payne. The guy can catch balls. youtube "Philip Payne ASU" and you'll see him make an amazing catch when the rebels upset ASU in the 2nd week of last season.
Donaire B- Abe Concepcion F Milligen A- that's how I'd rate their recent fight. Overall pinoy power 2 card...C No spectacular knockouts or exchanges.
in terms of action and result yeah I give it a C if only the luevano fight didnt end like it did, it prolly be a B grade for your money's worth. I was rooting for Abe but I rather he lost a boring one sided decsion than have the fight end the way it did. The scary part is we may see a rematch between the 2 not too far away.
Donaire is at least B+, look at at his sacrifices..... "Donaire, who brought down his weight to 115 after three weeks of taking two eggs and sweet-sour soup with mixed vegetables thrice a day, gave up at least 15 pounds when the fight began."
i had luevanao up 4 to 2 rounds with steve winning 4 straight before he lowered his guard. all luevano did was pitty pat jab all day long and move. and he was up because of his workrate and abe's lack of workrate. rematch..it better be free because sans controversial call, the fight had nothing going for it to warrant a rematch.
When is the next installment? Pinoy power 3.it's a qty show ...wtf is up with that music in the breaks ya cant hear the bell FFS.
seriously i thought that Concepcion coming in overweight would make it a more interesting fight and it sure as hell did. It was unfair for Donaire but at the same time it made it more of a battle for the fans.
Can't wait for the ppv numbers. the event sucked and I was there. It is what it is. Can't wait for the next Chavez Jr. PPV..:yep Back to the drawing board..
