    Pretty good down under.

New free to air Digital Sports Channel putting on fight cards with decent local fighters (Pacific Region including Asia and New Zealand).
Bringing to homes free to air boxing which hasn't happened since the eighties has to be a good thing for the viewers and the profile of the sport.

Speaking or myself, i mostly follow fights from 160 and up, so 2009 been nothing special so far, quite boring! I was excited by the Wlad vs Haye match up.. but you know! Super-six was launced this year, so that would be best thing imo!

Summer drought of 2009. Started off with a bang with the Pac/Hatton fight.

Horrid fight between Klitschko and White Tyson. Mayweather/Marquez fight gets pushed back. The showbox fights of Campbell/Bradley-Witter/Alexander was probably the most dissapointing and this event was free.

I'd rate Pinoy Power 2 show a C- in terms of excitement and competition. I don't know if Anthony Peterson made the ppv undercard. Not impressed overall.

Then we have Roy Jones Jr/Lacy. Didn't see the ppv but people got their money's worth supposedly. All of a sudden a shot Roy Jones Jr. gets to prolong his career because he fought a shot bum.

The FNF fights from what I've seen except the lionhead guy/chicken dance II have been mediocre...as usual.

Haye obviously ducking Vitali and fighting f'n Valuev? what a joke.

Fall can't happen soon enough BUT we got Pavlik-Williams Cotto Pacquiao showdown to end 09 and the Super 6.

Boxing is going to have to dig deep and put on stellar cards if they are going to compete with MMA. I have them down on my scorecards..

^^^ I still think its the year of the exposed prospect by far but you make up great points.

Boxing has been dissappointing this year due to cancellations, postponements, quitters and boxers dying (not really blaming the sport for this one). Kind of not expected considering that we are going to have a total of 3 "mega fights" this year

Pac cements his place as the best in the world, while PBF makes a comeback to try to reclaim his crown.

In terms of the heavyweight, I think it's been pretty good so far.

Not so much in terms of fight quality, sadly that's still a problem. But in terms of 'unmuddying the waters' it's been good, with contenders fighting contenders and the belt-holders doing their bit as well.

We'll leave 2009 in a clearer situation than we entered it I feel.

The Duddy loss wasn't really a upset. He was going to distance vs. bums already, he was bound to lose sooner or later. Duddy isn't really that good.

Duddy was more expected to lose than any of those other fighters, so him losing was expected, not much of a upset. It was just tougher calling the right journyman who would beat him, and it was Billy Lyell.

yup concepcion hype is over. He does have the power at 126 so that's good but he couldn't even beat the weakest champ at 126.

anyways good point on those prospects getting exposed. You should put amir khan name in there too. Even though his a world champ now, he still got exposed by prescott.

2009 has had it's up and downs lately. The fights getting postponed or cancelled has been the most disappointing part of 2009. But at least it has some positive side on the heavyweights. Now heavyweight got a linear champ and has couple of new bloods that might bring excitement in the future. Arreola and haye along with chambers and some other young heavyweights should make the division more exciting in the future.

Also bunch of sad news with the deaths of gatti-arguello and forrest.

The rest of the year looks exciting with big fights coming up. Floyd vs Marquez--pavlik vs williams---middleweight tournament--cotto vs pacman--haye vs valuev and klitcko vs arreola...
