Was anyone surprised by Roy Jones's punch resistance ?

I was surprised by a lot in that fight. Jones looked fantastic in every area!!

 

Calzaghe might have hurt him but Roy took his punches well and kept trying to fire back, he just ran out of gas and had no answers as the fight went. Calzaghe was too active for him at that stage of his career.

 

Not at all. Lacy is new to 175, and ain't done any damage to any opponent since Tsypko. He never landed fully flush on RJ either, at least not to the chin. RJ rolled most of his shots even if they did touch his jaw.

 

Yes, it seems better than the Tarver and Johnson fights would suggest.
