What do boxers say to each other during clinches?

I would imagine they say pretty disturbing things to each other... here are a few examples:

During Hagler-Leonard (1987)
Hagler continually yelled '*****' at ray throughout the whole fight.

During Whitaker-Chavez (1993)
Whitaker learned a few spanish insults before the fight and can be heard saying 'hijo de puta' & 'joto' during the fight...

Anybody else have some good examples of specific things that were said during the big fights?

..archie moore talked to his opponents often. here are the examples I know of:

ezzard charles told me archie kept using the "n" word in at least one of their fights. he said things like "you're a hot here in cincinnati but you're just another n***** when the fights over" and "hey n*****boy, can you stay in the downtown hotels?"...ezzard couldn't figure this out because of course archie was a black man himself. one of ezz's corner men said maybe archie was trying to affect ezzard's concentration. didn't work.

when archie fought tony anthony he kept telling him what A great fighter he (tony) was...how he was going to be a champion, what a beautiful boxer he was....." and then kayoed him.

willie pastrano said archie kept up a line of patter continually and then said "stand still" and willie stood still and archie smacked him a good one.

 

Frazier said that Ali talked during their fights. In the first fight Ali said,"Don't you know Im God" Frazier replied," Well God you're in the wrong place tonight" And in the Thrilla in Manilla Ali said,"They told me you were washed up Joe" Frazier replied,"They told you wrong pretty boy"

 

I imagine Tyson was mumbling to Holyfield and Evander was telling him not to talk with his mouth full.

 

Look at my signature. I don't think it was in a clinch but the quote was from what Joe was describing what happend.

 

They say 'you can't punch for **** George'

 

Ali in Manilla--"They told me you were shot Joe"

 

Joe Calzaghe to B-Hop after he turns him around and bends him over "you'll never let a white boy beat you huh?"

 

that's really funny since he didn't beat him. outpointed yes, beat? no.

"Keep em up Max",Braddock to Baer after receiving a low one.

"Is that up enough " ? Baer to Braddock after replying with a shot to the chin.
"Yeah thats fine ". Braddock in reply

" Close your glove ",refereeTeddy Waltham to Ali , " after Ali cuffed Mildenberger .

" Like that"? Ali after landing a right hand that sent Mildenberger flying over backwards.

 

Ali reputedly trash talked a lot to Big George during the Rumble in the Jungle, with things like "It is the best you got?, etc.

 

Tyson was trash talkin' a lot to Biggs during their 1987 Title Bout.... Tyson was getting revenge for not making the 1984 Olympic team....

 

I was watching the second Ivan Robinson-Arturo Gatti fight the other day.

Gatti said to Robinson "you want a war? You got one"

 

Frazier, "They lied."

By the way. In terms of your signature I know Joe says Ali said that but Ali feverishly denies this. Who knows...

As for that signature Joe claims he said, "Well god, you in the wrong place tonight."
