I doubt Pacquiao - Mayweather will even come close to De La Hoya - Mayweather unless Floyd KOs Marquez & Pacquiao likewise with Cotto in blistering fashion early on.

That fight breaking 2.0M would be huge. But I still doubt it'd even do that!
Closer to 1.5M (as i said, barring Pacman & Floyd samurai-like killings of Miguel & Juan Manuel respectively).

I say it will do around 700k...... depending on the promotion for this fight, and how mainstream media eather accepts and pushes it or ignores it...

But i will def be dissapointed if it doesnt hit the 700k mark....

Cotto is seen as damaged goods im sorry cotto fans. Whether this is true or not many expect Pacman to win. Which is why this fight is not as big as some people think it to be.

I actually see the numbers around 600,000. Cotto hasnt got a big a following as Hatton and he has loss many casual fans after he quit against Margarito and won a vacant belt against C class fighter in Michael Jennings. He did show some heart in the Clottey fight but he was not the same fighter cut or no cut.

About the same as Hatton id say. It wont break any records especially whe De la Hoya or Floyd arent involved.

Does know one believe that UFC 105 which is being broadcast on Spike TV that same evening will not have an effect on this fight?
I do.500k is my prediction with the Latino's and the Pinoy's carrying the freight for this one.

    Erm, it's UFC 103... not UFC 105.

And, despite what people say, yes -- it will.

The vast majority of gigantic PPV buyrates are due to 'casuals' not 'hardcore fans' (many hardcores don't even buy the PPV! you all know what i'm talking about).

Now that night, it's Mayweather-Marquez (and Marquez, few of them will have actually seen / heard of, as they aren't really boxing fans -- so yes, mainstream media push & 24/7 will have a factor --- they'll all watch 24/7 as long as 24/7 itself is advertised enough, they all do). Can you name me off the top of your hat any big fights on the undercard which could entice these casuals? Hell, are there even many (if any) confirmed fights on the undercard which have got us lot jumping for joy? (Not really, cuz that's not how boxing works anymore, really). Is anyone really that eager to see Hatton-Judah (which is in jeoprady last I read -- but has it actually been called off yet??)

note: if anyone has the full card, please post. As I know there have been updates that I might have missed. I know Winky was wanting to get on the card.

    But anyway, yeah.
You have Mayweather-Marquez vs. an absolutely GREAT ufc103 card.
Then you have the common difference: a UFC PPV gives you multiple interesting fights as they have been marketed & produced with much more emphasis compared to the Mayweather-Marquez undercard where no fight on the undercard will get any real marketing at all.

I'm not saying UFC103 will outsell PBF-JMM (none of the UFC's biggest draws are even on that card), though I'm sure it WILL HAVE AN EFFECT on those casuals who bought DLH-PBF & PBF-Hatton.

    I'm sure of it.

gotta remember, these buyrates towards a million & over have all been in GIGANTIC-fights. In comparison, Cotto hasn't sold that much on his own, even vs. Mosley & Margarito.... (just to pick one of the biggest names in boxing in Cotto as an example) and it wasn't that long ago that breaking 500k was considered a VERY GOOD JOB for boxing PPV's... & Bernard was often falling short of that too, often in the 400ks !, meanwhile, let's just say the UFC is thriving ridiculously well when their better draws are on cards & still doing pretty decent when they aren't! Just wikipedia the buyrates for each event.

Well he's actually somewhat accurate. There has been some rumors that UFC 105 will air on tape delay on SpikeTV against Cotto/Pac. 103 will go up against Floyd/JMM.

Truthfully I think Pac/Cotto will touch 750K regardless. Cotto had 1.69 million people tuning in for his fight against Clottey, Pac's last PPV did a solid 850K. With some decent hype behind it, I think hitting 750K isn't out of the question. Remember us Puerto Ricans are crazy sometimes, over 150K buys from Puerto Rico for RJJ vs Tito
