Sorry about the mistake before , so just who do you think is the greatest fighter of alli time. like I said before I don't include fighters like greb where there is no actual fight footage of them.

also the fighter you pick does'nt have to be in the poll above it can be anyone so make your picks and the reason for them.

    my number one is
    1.Sugar Ray Leonard.

    Reasons:
Beat a who's who of boxing's all time greats ,beat a top 3 all time welter in a peak Tommy Hearns , beat probably the greatest lightweight in Roberto Duran though duran was not in the best of shape in the rematch admittedly,
beat a defenvise genuis in Wilfred Benitez, and beat in my mind
the greatest middleweight in history Marvelous Marvin Hagler. he also won world titles in 5 weight divisions.

Sugar Ray Leonard isn't even in my top 10. If you exclude fighters of whom there is no footage he would be my #13 I think.

Manny is so good that having Dempsey at #9 might be even more ridiculous than having him at #1...

    Sugar,

Its not what Leonard did or didnt do that would see him not inside a top 10 alltime list..its what others did better. Dont think its having a go at Leonard, it would be "having a go" at the other fighters McGrain has listed to have them below Ray.

There is film of Langfored and Charles..they have a better argument then most of the guys on the list.

I mostly interchange Robinson and Armstrong.

why have willie pep (who is a great fighter) so high when he is 1-3 with saddler why not have saddler ahead because its unfair on the man when won 3 out 4 ,plus beeny leonard is very overated his footwork is all over the place and he over reaches with his puches, someone like sugar ray leonard would have dominanted benny with his superior technic and ability no disrespect meant to benny but thats the truth.

also sugar ray fought duran for 15 rounds in duran's kind of fight and on pretty even term's and he boxed with benitez in a close fight, sugar ray was an all round great fighter he box and fight he had everything and you really underating his skills and achievements.

Well Pep struggled with Saddler, but Saddler is also top 20 p4p, and Pep had to match Saddler for the majority of these fights after his back was broken in a plane crash that was supposed to end his career (bringing a whole new meaning to the words "past prime"). At one point he held a record of 137-1-1. The guy was a warlock.

Benny - this is a pound for pound list, no? So given that Sugar Ray Leonard's best weight was welter and Leonard's best weight was light, what is the relevance of Leonard's beating him head to head? Of course, Ray Leonard did lose to the best ex-lightweight he ever faced...

It's rare that Sugar turns up in top 10 p4p lists; you're the first guy on the forum i've seen place him at #1. I'd say if i'm underating him, most of us are. Having said that, he's top 15 or 16 for sure.

and also i'm not talking about weight pd 4 pd excludes the issue of weight , so i'm talking about do you seriously believe benny leonard could beat sugar ray leonard.
