Apparently Paul Stretford and Freddy Shepherd's Triple S Sports Entertainment Group are behind Calzaghe Promotions next event in Newport.

Will this be good for boxing or (without being libelous) does anyone see stormy waters ahead?

Personally, I don't see them going anywhere - unless they join forces with Hatton's promotional outfit or Hayemaker, although if they did that, would there be too many ego's about?

:dealWasn't there a rumour (probably just that) that Hatton and Hayemaker were going to unite for the good of British boxing as well? Calzaghe Promo's will go nowhere, IMO, and that is something I'm not wishing on them either. In short, the UK is only full of so much talent and with so many promoters out there, I fear up-and-coming boxers will choose the more seasoned promotional outfits instead.

If Hatton (GBP links), Calzaghe and Hayemaker (GBP links) all merge and become the UK branch of GBP, then that would be the best future step for collective, sustained success, IMO.

I think they should do well. They should get a huge following in wales and there is certainly enough welsh talent coming through.

Need to up their game me thinks.

Not sure how well tickets are selling for the show in Newport on Friday but advertising hasn't been that prominent.

I think they need a marquee fighter.

Hatton, Hayemaker and Calzaghe should of united when they all left there big promoters. this is what De La Hoya did.

Hopkins, Mosley both have a stake in the company. imagine of froch got involved to.
