http://www.nydailynews.com/archives/sports/1997/02/09/1997-02-09_boxing_is_crying_now__why_wa.html Interesting article about McCall. The man had been battling a drug and alcohol addiction for years. He's been in rehab three times. He's also been arrested numerous times in the 90s. And then some nutcase on ESB claims the Klits were DUCKING McCall Classic.
The very same Sanders that knocked Rahman down early only to gas out & get knocked out, yeah that guy.
We agree on that subject then. I don't think there was any foul play but Wladimir clearly wasn't all there and he proved so in the rematch.
Sanders hurt a knee in training & he couldn't do his roadwork. He had Rahman in trouble early & he tried to finish him but ended up gassing out & getting stopped himself later in the fight.
I almost forgot about Brew's KO of Krasniqi. That was a sensational KO in a fight he was losing on the cards.
01 - Muhammad Ali 02 - Joe Louis 03 - Sonny Liston 04 - Leenox Lewis 05 - Joe Frazier 06 - Jack Johnson 07 - Mike Tyson 08 - Larry Holmes 09 - Rocky Marciano 10 - Harry Wills 11 - George Foreman 12 - Evander Holyfield 13 - Jim Jeffries 14 - Jack Dempsey 15 - Max Schmeling 16 - Joe Walcott 17 - Floyd Patterson 18 - Ezzard Charles 19 - Wlad Klistschko
Do you know what KTFO means? Have you watched the Rahman-Sanders fight? Try watching the fight instead of going to box rec next time...
Charles, Patterson, Schmeling & Walcott shouldn't rank higher than Wladimir Klitschko :nono An argument could be made that Liston, Johnson & Jeffries are below Klitschko as well. I admit I don't know enough about Harry Wills to rank him.
You know I was going to say e isnt top 20 but then I started writing out a list ( like yours ) and lo and behold I couldnt come up with more than 15 or so guys I had higher than him , so I guess for me he is top 20. there was a good point made earlier about VKs title fight record , there is **** all to it , yet he is held up like some kind of all conquering monster. When he hasnt actually fought anyone good other than the loss to Lewis. It just shows how hard it is to really judge legacy
