I just read in the Grand Rapids press that Tekate Beer company is offering a $25 rebate to individuals who order the Mayweather/Marquez fight and buy Tekate beer. Great news and should be a boost to PPV sales ...
You're virtually given the fight for $25 and this seems to be a new step in promoting big PPV fights.
This, along with the stacked undercard should prove to sell ...
Juarez who's big in the southwest, large fan base, is fighting a fight that is winnable for him, against a world champion. His appearance on the card should boost sales. Marquez is fighting on Mexican independence day and that alone should help boost sales. Marquez has a name for himself in the game.
Zab Judah, Michael Katsidis, and US Olympian Vincente Escobedo should prove to bring in some fans too.
Mayweather is going to bring casual fans, Mayweather haters, and hardcorre fight fans.

I think this fight will produce atleast 600k buys, which would be great considering the ecomony.

I doubt they would have any competition with UFC fight on the same day, given that those names headlining that fight aren't major players in MMA.

Thoughts on Tekate, PPV sales, and Boxing vs MMA?

They do this every time a major GBP PPV goes down.

And yes they will have competition from MMA which has established itself a solid niche audience and is leading with a guy who is a pseudo major player in terms of PPV draws (Rich Franklin and Mirko CroCop)

And Tecate (as epic as their commercials may be) isn't worth the 25 dollar rebate

That UFC card will tank ... Rich Franklin isn't a major player in the UFC ... he's not a PPV headliner and CroCop isn't going to life sales much at all. Yeah UFC has a dedicated fanbase but this isn't going to break any numbers done by UFC 100.

I didn't know that GBP's did that with their big promotions ... I think thats great and more promoters should do that to give an extra incentive to buying PPV boxing events.

They also offered a 25 dollar rebate for Floyd/Oscah and might've done the same for Hatton vs Floyd. It's not really new...GBP and Tecate are pretty much gay lovers at this point.

Do you guys think that this will boost the numbers in certain regions/boxing markets?
