Chavez' determination and unmitigated calm during chaos is much more impressive than his combination punching.

His body punching was pretty good too.

Perhaps so, but his combination punching was also one of his greatest strengths. His opponents must have felt there was three of him in there, just as he finished up throwing his right to the head, they were taking liver shots in quick succession also. I am not the only one who rates Chavez very highly as combination puncher, a TV commentator once noted after he dispatched of an opponent that, "Chavez is the best combination puncher to head and body I've ever seen". I agree with him.

His combinations WERE great. I'm not arguing they weren't. I just though his ability to remain resolute while going into the fire to deliver such crisp and brutal punches was much more impressive. The guy just had an unbelievable amount of courage when it came to that.

Absolutely. The way he walked through all of Meldrick Taylor's blizzard combination's for the full 12 rounds was unbelievable. I've just never seen a fighter as consistent as him when throwing punches to head and body. Occasionally you will see Sugar Ray Leonard or Roy Jones Jr throw a dynamite four punch combination, but Julio did it all of the time, and his accuracy was second to none. He lacked the handspeed of those guys, but his persistance and calmness, even if being hit back, always saw him find the target when he let his hands go.

He would clear up at 130, 135, and 140 if he was at his peak today. In my opinion.

I guess I can see what Blanco meant by better combination punchers. Certainly there were more flashy combination punchers and guys who were better at it in spurts...but Chavez was more consistent.

That's only cuz he trains PBF on your avi....You know the game...**** you started it...Any way Chavez is an all time great beast and PBF is up there also...I'm a fan of both myself but those cheap shots on greatness is absurd.

But there is long list of quality fighters in their Prime he refused to fight.

I did not know that Melderick Taylor, Hector Camacho, Andy Holligan, Greg Haughen, Edwin Rosario, Juan La Porte, Ruben Castillo, and Mario Martinez were cab drivers.

This was clear long ago. Scar has some kind of grudge with Mexicans/JCC. He tries to pass off as neutral.

Look at his extreme hate for Margarito. It makes me chuckle.

yea, theres little subtlety in his prejudice, and in his very next post he will tell you how impartial he is because he is a REAL boxing fan, lol. its comical, almost like he does it to see who is dumb enough to buy it.

I have nothing against Mexican fighters though admit hate for JCC only because I believe he's far too overrated. It's funny how people quickly notice negative comments but positive ones are ignored. I'm a huge fan of Morales(top 5 all-time favorite), R.Marquez, JMM, BabyBull Diaz, DLH and I.Vasquez. Hating JCC doesn't mean I hate the entire damn country. My hate for Margarito is obvious, even guys who liked him started to get sick of all the bull**** and hype this guy carried when he it was obvious as hell he's below limited at best. Sometimes idiotic fans make certain fans hate the fighter, everyone does it. I'm damn sure there are many Mexican fans who love Pacquiao yet can't help but root against him to see some of his fans shut up, same goes for Mayweather and all other fighters.

Hey man, if I was racist towards them I'll nail you with it. This is a damn message board and I'm behind a computer, there's nothing to fear, right?

JCC Jr. vs Bruce Wayne, prediction?

Its very obvious...Why else would you even begin to disrespect such a great ATG. That is sad. Oh well some people are just infected with that nonsense.

No doubt, you are free to say what you want obviously. Just pointing out something I noticed, maybe I'm wrong. Although there's no need to hate a fighter cause of his fans. But it happens. It happened to me with Williams until I realised I disliked him purely because of his fans.
