proboxing on the beeb would be great. AM boxing i am not that sure about there are more fights in AM boxing where i am left scratching my head at the decision they dont seem to count body punching and combo`s seldom score as they should .it often makes me turn off half way through

The thing about the Am's is, you don't need to glory peg it. Put it on at 11 p'm on a ]Monday night for forty five minutes, who here wouldn't love it? Then, repeat the bignews on Saturday afternoon with an advert for Monday night's program.

It's a joke that there is no amature boxing on British pbs broadcasting. Look at some of the **** that rides late night on the BBC. And they got about 75 channels now.

Its all about money though. Would only be a goer if it could be done relatively cheaply. Ive got no idea how much it costs to film boxing or run a studio for a wee bit of discussion before or after. Ive seen folk ranting and raving on here about how the BBC is too PC for boxing - thats bull****. If they could get Khan, Hatton or Froch fights dirt cheap they'd be right in there. Its just that most of their sports budget is taken up by Football, F1 and Wimbledon.

The idea about focusing on building for 2012 is a great one though. I wonder if the best medal prospects around just now would sign deals for say their first 10 pro fights in exchange for a little bit of cash and exposure now, with guarunteed contracts and decent money if they get medals in 2012 ? They could get boxing on the telly alongside some contender/the ultimate fighter style getting to know the fighters. Although the BBC got their fingers burned big time with Audley, and very few of the fights just after turning pro are competitive.

And with all the promoting the bbc has been doing about the F1 on the internet, radio, red button etc. compared with virtually none for the boxing says it all.
