I think That He's at least in the Top 20 based on his 2 wins over Evander Holyfield but not exactly sure where I'd put him. Where do you think he belongs among the ATG's?

I assume were restricting ourselves to heavyweight?

If so I would say Bowe would be top 20, yeah.

Talent wise yes, but his resume doesn't qualify him as a top 20 HW for me.

Somewhere between 25-30 would be more fitting IMO.

What the **** are you on? Golota is better than Bowe and ask yourself if Golota is top 100 (you said top 20, but that is so ridiculous that top 100 is more than ridicuilous enough).

Bowe got small Evander as his O N L Y claim to fame. And even with huge physical advantages he could hardly beat little Evander. When an equal sized decent HW in Golota came into the ring Bowe was being battered around the ring showing his true colours. Bowe is the HW Lacy - only he stopped in time before he was as exposed.

    Ridiculous thread.

I think he meant top 20 heavyweights.

You can't become a Top 20 ATG with just TALENT but zero discipline, passion and determination.

Bowe had heaps of talent but he spent his life eating and throwing belts in the trashcan rather than spending time in the gym and in the ring against top opposition.

Thanks for your insults..but maybe you should take into account that perhaps Bowe was a done Fighter when he met up with Golota. Which is something that I think most people would agree with.

I think Bowe had a very short prime. He was pretty much done after the 2nd Holyfield bout.
By the time he faced Golota, he was a shot fighter.

If he only had more discipline and stayed in shape, he probably would have achieved more in his career. I think putting him in the top 20 ATG is too generous. He might be top 20 in the HW though.

Bowe's prime ended right before he met Golota.

Just like Lacy'sd prime ended just before he met calzaghe.

    ..... riiight....

I wouldn't expect to see Patterson in the top 20.

What's your reasoning for him in there, if you don't mind?

Nothing personal, dude - I just don't think Bowe is anywhere near top 20 (I can at least say the number when we are talking about HWs) even when we talk HW.

I see Bowe as someone who was at the right place at the right time - he took advantage of the Tyson-Evander happening and then when his image began to crack he stopped fast enough to retain some kind ogf image.
