Sure, I know it's sacrilege on here to talk ill of the most hyped fighter of all time, but for my money, a welterweight bout between these two would have resulted in a painful, one sided beating, ending in a late round KO in favour of the much underrated Golden Boy, Oscar De La Hoya!

Old Hands of Stone would've struggled to land a telling punch on Oscar, who would've inflicted spiteful combinations on the head and torso of the Panamanian bully boy, before tattooing his ugly face with a salvo of unanswered, concussive and fight-ending blows round about the 8th or 9th round.

Not as conclusive as the Hit Man, but a one-sided shellacking, all the same.:bbb

lionel! you're back! you still don't know anything about boxing but it's good to see you try:good thumbs up buddy

oscar was dominant at lightweight not welter. still i agree that the ONLY chance oscar had was at welter. so prime for prime...say oscar from whitaker fight vs duran from leonard fight you ACTUALLY see this as a one sided beating?

dude you are awesome for trying. seriously no matter how little you know you always give it your all. i hope people help guide you and give you a little respect here because when someone like you reaches for the stars, it's inspirational

Duran would knock out DLH, I say in the 8th round. Duran had so many rugged tricks and skills. Roberto was a natural fighter with a heavy hand, he would of really hurt Oscar in a prime against prime fight, Same as JC Chavez.

Which weight? At 135 Duran takes it in 8 and I think would win on points at 147.

i don't think duran knocks him out. at any weight, oscar had a damn solid chin and he would use his height (but not speed) advantage to avoid the most damage. duran was faster, threw in ferocious combinations, and destroyed the body like a demon. he would put oscar on the back foot throughout, which was not a comfortable position for the golden boy. one sided decision for duran with a late knockdown thrown in for good measure

Theres not a single one armed fighter in the history and/or future world that would beat Roberto Duran.

Duran would have a field day against De La Hoya.

How do you mean about the one armed thing?

Like I mean, what is it about Duran in particular that a fighter needed to be good with both hands to beat him?

At 135, Duran kills Oscar by TKO late.

At 147, it depends. There are two Durans at welter: the pre "No Mas" Duran (his first fight with SRL was Hands of Stone at his peak) and the Post "No mas" Duran, an unmotivated, balooning fighter who was ridiculed by Wilfredo Benitez and soundly beaten by Kirkland Laing.

Oscar has a very good shot at beating the post "No mas" Duran.

When Duran started getting serous again, he jumped to 154 and revived his career against Pipino Cuevas (who, like him, was in decline), and Davey Moore, a good but inexperienced fighter.
