Would a Pac-Floyd fight surpass the buys that Oscar-Floyd did?

People act as if Oscar's PPV dollars were based on Boxing Fans watching his fights to see AWESOME BOXING SKILL, PRECISION PUNCHING AND RING DOMINANCE. OSCAR'S STAR POWER WAS BASED ON POPULARITY AND DEMOGRAPHICS.

He capitalized on a pretty smile, which got him plenty of "face time" in non-sports magazines (GQ, PEOPLE...etc) plenty of appearances on American "English-Speaking" Television (Regis, Jay Leno...etc), Which endeared him in the hearts of NON-FIGHT fans!!!

Winky and Mosley have BETTER RESUMES AND FAR MORE SKILLED THAN OSCAR. And they are still fighting very close to "PEAK-LEVEL" in their late 30's. But AMERICA WILL NEVER HAVE THE SAME LOVE AND AFFECTION FOR THESE TWO GREATS...

Because they don't possessed the "Manufactured" Hollywood charm and personality of OSCAR DE LA HOYA.

GOOD FIGHTER..YES!!!! ABSOLUTELY!!! A FIRST BALLET FUTURE HALL OF FAMER.
But if you produced an HOUR long documentary of Oscar De La Hoya...45 minutes would be about is Personality and Celebrity status.

Every time he Fought the ELITES He loss...Mosley, Hopkins, Mayweather...After Hopkins destroyed Trinidad, he begged Oscar for a fight, but Oscar chose to fight Javier Castillejo and Luis Ramon Campas....REALLY??? WOW!!!

Although I thought Oscar won the Trinidad fight...I am still bothered about the ROBBERY OF FELIX STURM. Not only did they take a victory away from Sturm, but they Gave Oscar a UNANIMOUS DECISION...WOW!!!

I can just imagine the large amount of Oscar lovers replying to this post...But please do not mis-interpret what i am saying...I believe Oscar is an Quality fighter...
IMO...I have always said...B+ Fighter with A+ FAN FOLLOWING AND PERSONALITY!

I wouldn't make a prediction on the PAC vs PBF numbers yet until I see how their upcoming fight numbers do.

Because in Philippines PPV is either on cinemas which counts as 1 or even 0, even if there are hundreds of thousands paid to watch it.

Local governments giving FREE Live Viewing on the bout for tens of thousands per area.

Bars and restaurants having LIVE VIEWING if you DINE IN.

Cheap or Free streamings for internet users or in the internet cafes.

And Local channels which shows the bout with only 2-4hours delay.

So yes Phillippines doesnt have any PPV count but the whole country is watching it.

    Nestea,

Azteclover does not understand the there is no PPV in the Philippines.
    Excuse him for his IGNORANCE.

azteclover. Pls tell me WHICH COUNTRY aside from the Philippines will have a LOWER CRIME rate EVERTIME when their favorite BOXER FIGHTS?!

Our country is on a standstill when PAC fights. From the president, to the lowest class of the society, yes! the rebels from the south, watches the fight! Apparantly you don't know what you are talking about!

    If the King of Brunei

paid Michael Jackson for the whole country to watch him have a concert for FREE.

That's the same thing our Phil. government and Phil. local channels does for Pacquiao bouts.

Absolutely not! Any fight not involving Oscar will never outsell Oscar/Floyd. Boxing is on a decline to the general public/casual fan so Oscar is like the Elvis/Beatles/Michael Jackson of boxing when it comes to PPV sales.
