Yeah, and when King became Valuev's co-promoter after he beat Ruiz he had him fight against Owen Beck in his very next outing. That had all the makings of King throwing one of his undeserving fighters a bone more than anything else. By the way, what will Haye be defending if he beats Valuev without the WBA belt on the line?
Well I didn't think anybody did, unless I've missed something, but people keep stating it as fact. King isn't even Valuev's main promoter.

Haye was a mandatory challenger (won eliminator against Fragomeni) for Mormeck, hence no options for King. King can't enforce options for mandatories, otherwise his man would get stripped of the belt. Now Haye is fighting as a voluntary challenger. Don King won't allow him to grab the belt without options on him.
Of course it will, the WBA know a sexy sanctioning fee when they see one. The WBA ranked Haye at 4 out of nowhere and since Valuev was declared the 'WBA undisputed' champ, they have said he is free to voluntarilly defend his title against Haye. No doubts whatsoever that this will be for the WBA strap in my mind. There is also no source for this thread, either.
Why is it that the one title belt that King has any stake in is the one that is being subjected to the most machinations? Do you think that's just a coincidence? Haye getting involved with Don King on any level is a bad idea. Like I said, if he beats Valuev the path King will take him down will make what Wlad and Vitali offered him look like winning lottery tickets.

If Ruiz is on the undercard with step-aside money from King it is absolutely certain that Ruiz will face the winner of Haye/Valuev. Good for Haye, one of those "Super Fights" in HW history we've been waiting for! Haye vs Ruiz in some rural British village in front of an audience of 2,500 And then the winner of Haye vs. Ruiz faces Holyfield. Or Valuev? Or maybe Austin!
That's what I thought, pot, kettle and black and all that It must hurt to know that Don King offers better deals than the Klits, a sad state of affairs indeed.
