:thumbsup:thumbsup Lets not forget guys like Goes and Yvel were bonafide heavyweights. Hendo then went back down in weight to 185 and still beat the studs down there as well as rising to 205 and besting some of biggest names there including a past prime Wandy. I just dont see how anyone can see otherwise when Hendo's record is sooooo stacked over such a long period of time.

Because most of Hendo's successes came away from the UFC, so they simply don't get the proper amount of consideration and weight as they deserve to.

For me, the tipping point is Hendo's ability to be the best at two different classes at the same time. Can't fault Penn for stepping up to larger monsters like GSP and Hughes, but he hasn't balanced his success at 155 and 170 the way Hendo has at 185 and 205.

But anybody arguing that one or the other has a huge advantage over the other is kinda ridiculous. They both have resumes that are sick in and of themselves.

yeah right. BJ Penn could have a career like Hnedo but he hasn't yet..

    BJ Penn

If Hughes fought any other weight he'd get owned he just drain weight - Hughes is a decent fighter.
    Uno - ok fighter.
Gomi is his best win, former elite fighter.
Matt Serra idecent fighter, more famous for TUF.
    Renzo Gracie good fighter.
Rodriga Gracie is average at best.
Puvler is ok - but Penn lost to him.
Sherk - very good fighter good win but he was at the way out.
Florian / Stevenson - more hype than skill.

    ok now for Henseron.

    Newton - good fighter.
Yvel - 50lb bigger than him and a very dangerous guy.
Noguiera - He beat Noguiera and he weighed 50lb less than him................... elite HW ATG fighter
Sorobal has only lost top top guys - very good fighter.
    Renzo Gracie good fighter.
    Ninja Rua- decent fighter.
Vitor Belfort - ranges from elite to decent fighter.
W Silva - when Hendo beat Silva he was by far the top 205 guy in the world - elite fighter (at the time)
    Rich Frankin - good fighter
    Bisbing - Decent fighter.
    Gono - very decent fighter.

The only reason people rate BJ Penn higher than Henderson is because of they have seen him in the UFC abd believe the hype.

You just don't like BJ Penn :deal

You said Gomi is a "former" elite??? He was elite when BJ fought him. Hughes? Hughes was prime and very very dangerous when BJ beat him. Pulver was "ok"??? Sherk is on his way out? He was champ and had only lost to Hughes and GSP before Penn. Forian is more Hype then skill now? No. Florian is a damn good fighter and top 5 lightweight in the world right now and had been destroying opponents.

For starters, I'll just say that I think Hendo is ahead of BJ at the moment, but he has also been fighting for longer. When its all said and done (and providing Bj can keep his head on straight and not go off challenging Silva or Machida or whoever), I think he will surpass Hendo. He's close already.

Now then as for your post. It's full of **** again. Your telling me that Bisping and Gono are decent fighters, but Florian and Stevenson are just hype? Florian shits on both of them. Easily. And Stevenson is easily as good.

Pulver and Uno are just OK fighters?

Hughes just a decent fighter? GTFO:patsch

Gomi former elite? Oh dear! If anything Gomi was slightly pre-prime but still a very good win nonetheless.

And then you make some of Hendo's wins seem bigger than they are. You're so biased it's not even funny.

you are basically agreeing with me i am saying exactly this and I am quoting you here. "For starters, I'll just say that I think Hendo is ahead of BJ at the moment, but he has also been fighting for longer. " to everything else you say I disagree. Bisbing and Gono are decent.

Pulver and Ono better than OK.

    Gomi is former elite.

Hughes is a good middleweight, but an average fighter, he just lies on top of his opponents when he's weight drained.

It is difficult. I think BJ's record may be a bit easier on the eyes. He avenged his 155 loss and only has losses to bigger men who are consider the best ever in their division.

Would we say Henderson is naturally a 185 man who can build up to 205 OR 205 man who boils down to 185?

Why is this pointless debate still going on ?

Penn is a far superior fighter p4p to Hendo & if they were the same weight would choke him out in under 3 rds.

How is Gomi former elite when he went on the winning streak in PRIDE that most people know him for AFTER the BJ Penn fight?

And Pulver and Uno are better than Bisping and Gono every day of the week.

And the fact that you don't rate the 2nd best welterweight of all time just drives home the fact that you are a ******. Yes I do agree with you that Hendo is ahead now. Just. But your reasoning is bull****.

Its ok for Penn to draw with Uno in the rematch or lose to Pulver because he was unmotivated or what the **** ever it was but Hendo cant lose to Misaki a guy he had just beat like 4 months before that ? If Penns allowed to lose focus why cant Hendo ? I love BJ but he gets away with alittle to much IMO.

Gomi just turned obese for no reason, and I have no doubt whatsoever Bisbing is Better than Puvler and Ono has lost to anyone half decent.

I have never said anything bad about Bj Penn fighting on this forum ever, he is a talented talented fighter but he has lost every fight i thought he would loose, Henderson has won a lot of fights i didn't even think he stood a chance in. The W Silva V Henderson fight was like the GSP V Penn fight the difference is Henderson won the fight.

And Grievsey on this forum when somone thinks something different to you, you just use the word ******, stupid, and bull**** like a little child and keep using them in 4 posts until people get bored of your tantrum.
