If cotto wins is he the new p4p king?

    Some of these fighters were supposed to have the advantage over him as well. I remember the Chico fighter when his size was suppose to give him trouble etc, and Hatton was supposed to crush him with his pressure and body shots.

    Which is why the question is being raised? Some people believe that beating "the man" makes you the man and Forrest (RIP) beat the man in Mosley and lost in 3 rounds to Mayorga.

    No. P4P titles aren't distributed like titles. He definitely rises but not #1, #1 would most likely be Marquez if he beats Mayweather.

    lol I would have Marquez #1 if he wins even if Pac also wins.

    But no I wouldn't put Cotto #1 if he wins.

    Did pac beat morales in their second fight??so why are you just stating their 3rd when the important one is their second fight..just admit that your mayweather havent fight great opponents like pac:lol:

    if he beats Pac in a close fight and Pac moves back down to 140, Pac would still have a higher P4P ranking.

    I agree and I'm aware of how the P4P status is distributed, but I raised the question because some may not know and they feel that if you beat "the man" which is PAC then that automatically makes you "the man". As for Marquez, thats disputable with me. I'd go back and forth, but he'd be at least #2.

    If cotto wins and buy out his contract from top rank and joins GBP, then he'll be p4p # 1, if you know what i'm sayin'.

    A TKO stoppage of Marquez will solidify Mayweather as the #1 fighter again ... and a win will only bring Cotto to the top 5." marquez is a top featherweight and made himself top lightweight so how the hell would mayweather reedem himself p4p if he hasn't boxed a top ww
