So what are you saying if his claim can't be proven or disproven that you default to questioning his integrity? If so, where in Nate's past can you source that he has a history of illegitimate claims or just incredible behavior in general?
One, a fighter doesn't have to have a history on illegitimate claims to make an illegitimate claim. Two, the guy was thoroughly beaten up, up to the point of the cut/stoppage, so I don't think it's impossible that he could have made that claim out of sheer frustration. Three, I'm not attempting to discredit Nate, as he's one of the fighters I like. But in this case, I don't think it's a... well, legitimate claim that his cut was that bad, just cause he said so. Maybe it's true, and maybe it's not.
Are you that daft?? I was speaking SOLELY of Cotto. I said his cut was worse, but he didnt quit. How is that judging a prizefighter or being a keyboard warrior??? I felt Cotto's was worse...and got worse because he didnt quit (and therefore got punched in it more!!!!). Not that hard to comprehend bro. Never said a ****ing negative thing. As for Nate, he saw that the fight would be tough with one eye (which it would)...knew the round and that since it was caused by a butt, he decided to do the smartest thing and quit. Remember his fight with Diaz? Where a butt caused a cut that Diaz later said "he couldnt see" because of??? Did he stop the fight? NO! Noone is knocking Nate for stopping...I never said he was a *****...or anything negative. In fact, I said right after the fight that Nate quitting was well warrented after it happened. But the fact remains that HE QUIT...the fight was not stopped. Did you not hear him say "stop the fight, I cant see?". This isnt me ****ing knocking him...its me saying what happened. I swear some idiots on this site see you dont agree with them and suddenly lose the ability to ****ing read. Oh and your mother is a keyboard warrior (Im kidding, take your panties out your ass)!!!! :thumbsup
We happen to have 2 different takes on the fight. I am part of the consensus who believes Bradley was pitching a shutout up to the point of the stoppage however, I in no way characterize the fight as Bradley thoroughly beating up Nate and thus forcing him into submission. What I saw was Bradley out working Nate over the coarse of 3 rounds but rarely did he land meaningful punches that were causing any damage. I read too many posts from people who have expressed their beliefs that Bradley would have continued to outbox Nate for the remainder of the fight when imo there really isn't enough evidence for me to side with such a view. The beauty of boxing is that at any giving moment of a fight the entire completion of a perceived outcome by changed with just one punch. Nate not only has the power to cause such a change but he also possess the skills to adapt over the coarse of 12 rounds and find a way to become victorius. He demonstrated both qualities in his last fight against Funeka. In the end, I'm just taking Nate's word because there's no reason for me not to.
I'm sure eze will defend Campbell in 30 minutes or an hour. But all seriousness it's a no brainer that Cotto's cut was the worse one. And i don't think Campbell was more damage cause he didn't even let his cut man to work with the cut. All Campbell said was "i can't see. I CAN'T SEE!!!" I don't care what anybody said, Campbell is not a warrior. The real warriors are Cotto, Vitali ( when he fought Lewis), Diaz (Juan), Wright ( when he got a nasty cut by Hopkins head).
By saying "getting beat up" I don't necessarily mean taking hard power punches, I meant he was obviously getting beaten, up to that point. So we don't really have different takes on the fight. I really don't know if Bradley would continue to outbox Nate through 12 rounds, if the fight hadn't been stopped. Granted, Nate can change the course of a fight by a single punch. But I do find it rational and possible that Nate felt he was getting outboxed badly and thought he didn't have much of a chance to turn things around especially after that cut (thinking about the effects it would have on him during the rest of the fight), and out of his frustration he wanted the fight to stop, in order to maybe get a NC. I think that's possible and one can't rule it out. At the end of the day, maybe Nate told the truth, but I don't know for sure and neither do you. Again, not trying to downplay Nate or anything, I like the guy. But what I do know is that the cut on Cotto looked much worse.
Excellent proof actually. Campbell had his eye examined after the fight and it was found that he had sustained a vitreous hemorrhage, which is a leaking of blood within the cavity of the eye into the vitreolic fluid. This vitreous fluid is the clear fluid that fillls the eye, when hemorrhaged, it results in spots and blindness. To correct it typically requires fine laser microincision surgery to sew shut the tear. This type of eye injury is uncommon, as it requires the eye to be directly impacted. However, as you all saw, Campbell was butted directly in the eye.
