Absolute bollocks! Pascal is all over the ropes in the opening seconds as Froch lands a barrage of punches. Watch it again FFS.

I've watched the fight both live and many times on the box and I didn't have to resort to a shitey internet stream. I know very well how the fight went. To be honest I wan't a Froch fan when I went to see it live, partly because I was a Calzaghe fan, partly because I hadn't seen much of Froch but when the fight was over I was in no doubt as to who had won. I was also a Froch convert, not because he won (I was also a Pascal fan) but because of how he won and what he put in.

Danny_Rand, I'm seriously starting to think you're either a Troll or windup merchant. Your comments so obviously lack accuracy.

Your right, he does back Pascal up immediately at the beginning of the fight. Doesnt change the fact that Pascal had Froch fighting backwards in the 1st, 2nd, 4th rounds and 5th rounds. Completely contrary to what was written in the piece.

I've also seen all of Froch's fights and yes he does have a low workrate, but despite this he also brings a lot of heat. He is very effective going forward but obviously against world class fighters you can't just march forward

froch does like to come forward but he likes either the double jab righthand ' the 1-2 or he pot shots the big right cross or the long range rear uppercut which if seen in earlyier fights nearly decapitates heads an he can do it countering aswel his slipping shot is underated as he rode an sliped lots of taylors shots late on especialy that slick set up he did to drop taylor an in the brian magee fight he dun 2 slips going back then boom uppercut droped him heavey and with an broken hand he did a lead uppercut that sparked magee in the 11th. if u c the henry porras fight he lands good flurries and uppercuts. does decent body shots not great by all means though he's more of a head hunter,

froch tko's dirrel between rounds 4-6 remember i said that:bbb

Bollocks on the highlighted point for a start.

That out of the way, its never needed to be Froch's game (yet), but if you look at what Froch did to Taylor in the last few rounds when he HAD to come forward and take the fight to Taylor, the benefit and effectiveness were plain and clear for all to see, yes he works behind the jab but even froch's jab can sometimes be lazy, he's a pressure fighter but doesnt work too closely on the inside.

I swear every post ive seen you talk about Dirrell and how Froch can 'only hope' to beat him, you have nothing to base your invalid opinions on.

Clearly im a Froch fan, but at least i have the proof to back up what i say about his pros and cons.

Guys -- Danny-Rand glowingly want Direll to win, and iss trying to argue that Froch should NOT pressure Andre...

He says "Froch doesn't look good when he poressures and bla bla".. but he could just as well have said "please please please Froch, please don't pressure Direll".

Good observation and I totally agree. Froch will put pressure on Dirrell and back him up, but will maintain his distance and not try to smother Dirrell. I think that's a bad idea sitting out there in no mans land with a boxer like Dirrell. Froch definitely will not outjab Dirrell or outfight him from the outside. His style taylor made for Dirrell to look good against.

I like him going forward but I think he just needs to keep his jab going, that sets up his power shots eventually.

Rewatch the fight. Right around round 8 Froch's corner tells him he "needs to box" which is reiterated by the commentary team who repeated what his corner man says. Right around that time Froch begins to have success with his jab, and win the exchanges on the inside, where before Pascal was majority wise the aggressor during the fight.

Thats against a fighter who only fights in straight lines and was clearly gassed. Against a man like Dirrell who doesnt like to engage if he doesnt have to and is constantly circling around the ring, he needs to bring better pressure then what he's shown in the past.

I've seen that Froch can be outboxed by faster fighters. I've even seen him stunned and knocked down by Jermaine Taylor. Andre Dirrell is bigger and faster then Taylor, and doesnt stand infront of his opponent. I think this is the worst 1st round matchup Froch could have had. Your fighter is very limited technically and has a low workrate and is not a pressure fighter. To beat Dirrell his best shot is to catch Dirrell with his double jab and when Dirrell turns hit him with a right on the chin. Dirrell tragically keeps his hands low when circling the ring. Like Ali used to do.

The only chance for Froch to win is if he pressures Dirrell. If he doesnt he will not beat him on the outside.
