When Naz crashed into that bloke, didn't the lad recieve some pittance in compo ? I can't remember properley but i'm sure he got a measly measly payout for his injuries. Anyone know what kind of money he got ?
Yeah just a few thousand I think, but after Naz got let out, there was talk of him making a civil suit which was estimated to be around £3-4 Million.
Ridiculous when you think about it isn't it. He was definately in the wrong. He was breaking the law and the resulting consequence was that he broke every major bone on the mans body, yet only had to pay out a few thousand pounds when he was worth around £70million. The mans still sverely disabled even still, he cannot walk without an aide. Shame
^ old Max and his success/exploits is one of the main reasons boxing is so popular in Germany. "i zee zumting" that fight was arguelly the biggest in boxing history, sad how little people hear about it these days, its at least worthy of a movie
Yeah, thats true. He also had a multi-fight deal with HBO at one point, worth £6 million I believe, which finished after MAB and then went onto a fight-by-fight basis. They were negotiating with HBO around the time of 9/11 as well.... And numerous other sponsorship deals, most of which ended post-Barrera, which was one of the factors why he retired, commerically he wasn't going to be making anything like the money he was before, so he probably just thought "**** it, I'm done"
