Overrated, his reign was very short, he has wins over about 4-5 top10 ring ranked fighters which is a very low number. His comeback was largely that of a gatekeeper that lucked out. He always had problems with boxers who could move.
I think some people overrate him and his comeback, and others have him about right. I think anywhere from 6-10 is a fair placement for him.
How in the hell can you overrate Foreman..he was and still is one one hell of an impressive guy..not only for his boxing achievements, but for how he reinvented himself and all that outside the ring, grill selling, marketing stuff...he was GREAT..period.
Underrated for me. I hear him getting alot of unwarranted stick. To comeback the way he did to become the oldest ever heavyweight champ is pretty amazing and a real redemption for him after the Ali fight.
Agreed, and people act that just because two guys ( one of whom, the greatest heavyweight boxer of all time ) managed to out stick and out last him, that anyone can do it. The criticisms of his skills being limited are way overstated, to the extent where he has actually become one of the most UNDERRATED fighters on some of these forums.
