One judge got the proper score, 115-113 Diaz. Yes, the other scores were out of line, but the right guy won. You cannot expect to win a fight when you can't land a meaningful power-punch. The only identifiable punch the whole fight was the left-hook of Diaz which buzzed Paulie multiple times. :rasta
Paulie landed alot of right hands in that fight. Being peppered with a jab all fight long means something. You dont score power punches vs jabs. You score clean effective punching. that said I could see 115-113 Diaz. But in actuality it was 116-112 Paulie or 115-113 if you scored the rounds correctly.
Tell that to Joe Calzaghe who probably never landed any meaningful power punches his entire career. Diaz and everyone in the arena knew that he had been outboxed. Try and be objective.
I say be mad at the judge that scored it 118-110. Diaz still won by two rounds on my card. I don't see how a fight that close can be called a ROBBERY.
I'm Mexican AND I was rooting for Juan Diaz but this was an outright robbery. I'm kinda pissed off to tell you the truth. Doesn't matter that Juan won, it just doesn't feel right.
exactly.. malignaggi won that fight. 115-113 for paulie. Another bad decision from houston. First it was john-juarez and now paulie-diaz.
Couldn't have, dude. The correct score was 9-3 (117-111) for Paulie. If Paulie had ONLY won by a round, I wouldn't call it a robbery either. but Paulie schooled the guy.
It was a robbery if you consider the actual scores of the fight. That **** was fixed from the start. :-(
