Sorry dude, I know Diaz is Mexican-American, but he was outboxed this evening by a quicker fighter. I'm glad to hear that Guerrero broke his hand. I knew there was a reason he was poring with his shots, he usually throws hard. I now consider his showing tonight a really good one considering he did it with a broken hand.
Well, jabbing, using good ring generalship, and showing good defense by making your opponent swing wildy at air does win you fights. Paulie deserved that victory in my eyes, although it was close, and Paulie could have opened up a lot more with some combinations. Even still I thought he won it.
really bro...ON ****EN JABS :huh:huh i dont get what the big fuss is....paulie clearly did what he wanted to do.....SIGN THE FIGHT LIKE AN IDIOT, complain way beforehand about the weight, judges , location etc etc......fight in defense mode, and cry robbery... paulie played all you guys for fools and you know it
Not to mention the right hooks and uppercuts that turned diaz's face into chopped meat by the end of the fight. Freddy is bias towards latinos and cant see passed his limited vision.
Diaz led for most of the fight but he more or less threw the fight away by being gunshy and going 50-60 seconds at a time without landing a punch. It wasn't a blow out, i scored it 115-113 for Paulie and i am a Juan fan and in the past have criticised Paulie a fair bit. I could see a draw, not sure i could see 115-113 for Juan, i would have to be working hard to find him the rounds. Its the nature of the score cards that makes it attrocious. Paulie was never going to win the decision, even if he had won another round or knocked Juan down, clearly taking enough rounds to win. Ring generalship needs to be considered in a fight like this. It was fought on Paulie's terms.
This is the fight I saw.. I'm not gonna cry robbery cause it was a close fight..but 118/110 as soon as I heard that, I knew they were gonna give to Juan..I'm not a Malignaggi fan and could care less whether he ever fights again, but what he said to Max is right on..
It's not just jabs Paulie was throwing. He was controlling the pace of the fight, his defense, and the most important thing was he was throwing and landing his right hand. Paulie won this fight.
Freddy, you know some of us here are fairly level headed, even right after a fight. Paulie didn't influence my scorecard with his prefight complaints. He did, however, influence my scorecard by frustrating Diaz throughout the fight. A patent Diaz fight involves him throwing lots of combos, and he makes that huffing noise when he does so. Notice Diaz sounded unusually quiet tonight? He could not get into a rhythm because of Paulie's jabwork and movement. Taking a guy out of their game through your own arsenal is the essence of effective aggression. Juan landed enough punches to take some of the rounds, but Paulie won the majority of them. It seems the vast majority on here saw it that way as well.
Come on, Freddie! That fight was scored b4 it even ****in' started. 118-110 says it all, as far as I'm concerned.
