yeah there's reports that he has got a fracture to his chin/lower mandible. could want to heal up before next fight.
He had had surgery on his left arm a couple months ago and even though he wasn't certain it was completely healed (ala Pavlik) went ahead with negotiations with Chambers. Seems like the healing process isn't complete so he's bowing out for the year. Lets see if people give him as hard of a time as they did Pavlik for keeping his injury hidden yet still moving forward with fight plans!
We still haven’t seen medical proof. He is facing this injury to duck David Haye and Eddie Chambers. Champions shouldn’t act like this.
and here comes the horde of haye supporters, saying that he is ducking people. To be fair since no one knows 100% what happened with haye and unless Wlad proof will have the same accusations at him. Thats the way people work.
I'll wait till we get confirmation of this "injury" before I start mercilessly accusing him of ducking Chambers.
Not that it really matters though, we all know how the chambers-wlad fight would end up anyway lol I really don't like wlad, he's a punk, but the boy knocks out chambers even with a bad left lol
This kind of **** is killing boxing. What is it with all these top tier fighters having injuries and postponing/canceling fights? How the hell did they ever make it this far if they are so goddamn brittle?
I agree it's obnoxious, though I don't think it has anything to do with the injury. If you read the article on espn.com/boxing news headline section it sounds to me as if Wlad wasn't too happy with the dates that were availble for American TV. He had the date held for him this Winter, but wants to wait until the Spring for when American TV can take care of him....or so the article indicates
I'm very surprised to hear about this, and I'm curious if CHEF has known about this. It's definitely unfortunate if this is actually confirmed and he'll only have the 1 fight this year. During this time when he's at his physical peak IMO, he needs to be more active if he's going to continue to build his legacy as a great heavyweight champion.
