I don't think the UK is perfect either, it's always going to be easier for the local fighter to get decisions.

Possibly. When there is a will there is a way. And when there is big money, there is plenty of will.

But a international association of judges, which by federal mandate in each boxing country must be used for any sanctioned bout would perhaps be a good start.
No local judges would be used.
The promoters wouldn't even know who the judges were until the night of the fight. There is no need for them to know.

After each fight, the judges would have formal peer review from anonymous members of the association. If they **** up, just like any other job, they get fired.
The decision made on the night is not upheld until the formal review is finalised.

Anyone attempting to influence the association is banned from promoting for a year. On the second offence, it is made permanent. (This would be done by refusing to allow them to use the association's judges - which by federal mandate they must do)

You'd also have to ban O'Connor for life from reffing.

Sounds good. I don't get how promoters are allowed to choose their own judges and ref etc. It's basically a bribe in itself. So long as the judge scores for the promoters fighter/s, he continues to find regular work.

Nowhere is perfect. It's difficult to stop corruption, and also natural human tendancies when it comes to judging.

The best way to go about it is to have an independent body that judges refereeing and judging performance. Harsh punishments should be given to those that fall below the standards required.

But in the U.K. the refs let only the U.K. fighters grab and punch to the nuts:lol:. Kostya and Ricky was a case in point

    Yep.

Where there's money, there's corruption. Changing the location globally won't solve anything.
