How can there be any doubt!!! Jones easily beat Hopkins in 1993 despite being 4 years Hopkins junior. I`m amazed that anyone would mention Hopkins in the same breath as Roy Jones Jr. Jones came to fight against Joe Calzaghe and gave it his all where as Hopkins spoiled and went into cheating survival mode.

I mean that was what 16 years ago. Alot has changed. We have seen Roy Jones look horrible in a few fights and recently he looks good against B Class fighters. Even though Hopkins has defeated my guy Pavlik, his style was tailor made to beat Kelly. However Jones Jr does have quick hands and maybe able to steal rounds. I would loved to see this put to rest. I think Jones Jr. was fair to say 60 for the winner and 40 for the loser. I have always respected Hopkins for his business decisions however, if he thinks he is that much better. Then he should take this fight and evenge a loss. But I believe its doubtful.

RJJ is the man to me but you probably shouldn't use Calzaghe as an example....

lmao... The OP is just having some fun, as usual.

This is basic Calzaghe propaganda for those too stupid to realize.

Nonsense. Jones is one of the best fighters that America has ever produced. He is clearly ahead of Hopkins in status.

Not clearly, Jones had natural ability true but Hopkins had to work to become a great fighter. Both are phenomenons, Jones due to his athleticism and Hopkins in that he seems to never age. Hopkins has the slightly better resume and is currently adding to it while Jones ruins his. Nobody owns Hopkins.

What a bunch of NONSENSE. Jones was a decorated amatuer, an Olympic champion, Hopkins was working his way up after recently getting out of prison. Although older, he was "younger" in his career. And he would kick Jones ass right now.

I think BHop wins if they fight now BUT Roy did own him on that phonecall. Hopkins came off as scared for whatever reason. 60 to the WINNER is about as fair as i can imagine.

Jones won but didn't own anyone. Hopkins got better after that fight and rules the middleweight division. Hopkins came closer to beating Calzaghe than Roy did only losing a SD.
