What is? That both sides have been voting for their favorite regardless of logic? Cause that's what you did too I'm sure, just that this time it happened to be the right choice.

Are you "talking" to me? Cause if so you are stating the obvious. So I have no idea how you came up with this response.

Okay, I'll do a little research for you, tell you a bit about Pea's opponents.

Roger Mayweather: Two time champion, in both Super Featherweight and Jr Welterweight ranks. In his prime between his two title reigns when Whitaker beat him in what was just Pea's 12th pro fight. Hall of Famer.

Jose Luis Ramirez: Lifetime record of 102-9, with 82 wins by KO. Two time lightweight champion, only knocked out once in a 17 year pro career, by Ruben Oliveras, a guy with 77 KOs in 88 wins. Fought tough, close fights with ATGs Chavez, Arguello, and Edwin Rosario, whom many consider one of the hardest punchers in lightweight history. Pea made him look helpless twice, the first time in Pea's 16th pro fight. Hall of Famer.

Greg Haugen: 2 time world champion at lightweight, once held WBO belt at Jr Welterweight. Before turning pro, fought in tough-man contests where he fought and beat heavyweights. Tough guy, stopped only 3 times in a 17 year career, with Julio Cesar Chavez being the only one to do it before Haugen was an old, old man. Was 23-1 and reigning lightweight champion when Whitaker dominated him completely. Hall of Famer.

Azumah Nelson: ATG, possibly greatest fighter ever to come from Africa. Nearly defeated the great Salvador Sanchez, (who some feel is the greatest mexican of all time) in just his 14th fight. 3 time champ at Featherweight and Superfeatherweight. Began his first title reign in 84, ended his last in 97. Dominated by Pea. First ballot Hall of Famer.

Buddy McGirt: Two time champ at Jr. Welter and Welter. Tremendous technician, perennial pound for pound contender. Was 59-2 and 64-3 the two times he faced Whitaker, both of which he lost. Hall of Famer.

Julio Cesar Vazquez: 2 time Jr. Middleweight champion. 63-3 from 1986 to 2000 with 42 KOs. Fought Whitaker at Whitaker's highest weight where Whitaker was obviously slowed and affected by weight. Only loss before meeting Whitaker was by DQ. Scored Ring Magazine KO of the year in 1995, (the same year he fought Pernell) and was 53-1 coming into the bout. Lost to Pernell, who immediatedly vacated the title to go back down in weight. Still fighting today or his record would be much more impressive.

Julio Cesar Chavez: ... I hope I don't have to explain this one. Why don't we just say that Chavez was 87-0 and a 5 time champion in 3 weight classes before Pea clearly outboxed him, and that Chavez is usually ranked anywhere between around 15-30 in many expert's lists of greatest all time fighters.

Some notable challengers for Pea's titles during his reigns, their record when they fought Pea, and fates:

Jorge Paez, (2X featherweight champion, 38-3-4 UD), Poli Diaz, (32-0 UD), Rafael Pineda, (Jr. Welterweight champion, 28-1 WIDE UD) Juan Nazario, (Lightweight champion, 22-2 KO1) Lou Lomelli, (22-2 KO3) Harold Brazier, (78-10-1 WIDE UD) Santos Cardona (29-3 WIDE UD) Gary Jacobs, (Commonwealth champion, Welterweight contender, 41-5 WIDE UD) Wilfredo RiveraX2 (Welterweight contender, only stopped by De La Hoya [on a cut], Mosley, and Vargas. 23-0 and 23-1 SD and UD) Diosbelys Hurtado, (Jr. Welterweight champion 20-0 TKO-11).

With regard to Pea's last fights: he was a complete cokefiend by this time, and I think he had one fight canceled and another declared a no decision after he won because of positive tests for coke. He was also 33 when he fought De La Hoya and 35 against Trinidad. Many still think he beat Oscar and he went 12 against Trinidad despite a broken jaw.

Me either, but since you used logic in your voting, no point in arguing when there is nothing to argue about.
