Change all Chuck Norris jokes, replacing Chuck Norris with Manny Pacquiao. Then I want to hear no more from the *******s.

No problem, glad to be of help. :good

    - fought JCC when he was unbeaten, and Sweet Pea definitely won the fight. No catchweights.[/quote]

Er... hate to tell you this, but the JCC fight was at a catchweight. Chavez had been fighting at 140, Whitaker at 135. Whitaker skipped 140, went up to 147, and stayed there until his management thought he was ready, then had the fight at 145. Sorry to disappoint on that score.

That's not what I meant with my post.
I voted for Whitaker too... And I'm a big Pac fan.

It's directed to that poster. He knows what I'm talking about. He'll deny it of course.

It was a catchweight in Chavez's favor though, which if anything adds further brownie points to Pete.

The Patron Saint of ESB, I saw him coming up and the good fighters that were around they would avoid ......for years .....kid was a great fighter but on ESB he is grossly overrated.

No way are they going to vote Paquiao on here but clearly Pac has fought and beaten better.

i'm sure those 30 votes for manny are from people who adore manny, or are simply ocasional viewers.

It could be argued either way, since Chavez had only faced complete nobodies above 140, and I always felt he looked sluggish above 140. Some will argue that Pea could have come down to 140, (especially since he went to 140 just long enough to take the IBF title from Pineda), but on the other hand, Pea would have had even more of an advantage if he'd tried to force Chavez up to 147.

Regardless it was only what, Pea's 4th, 5th fight after leaving 135? Not a big deal either way. I just had to remind folks that catchweight fights weren't invented by Pacquiao and Roach, and that they're not necessarily a bad thing.
