Cotto is a very good fighter. But he's limited. Pacquiao will beat him, but we won't retire. He'll rematch Margarito.
he is overated in a sence he has never put on a masterclass against an elite, or totaly dominated a great fighter. lets see what he can do against pac.
One thing you could give to Cotto is he fought some of the toughest boxers around him... Now he will be facing the "devil" (the PACman) next... What a tough assignment ahead... Another thing is Cotto's ability to escape from adversity (except the Margcheat beatings) using low blows and body slams... Cotto will really find a way out from tough situations in subtle ways... .
Didn't read all that crap. Cotto's a very good fighter. He's a very solid boxer all around, great offense, good defense (though flawed), and a pretty decent chin. Also, styles make fights; fighters will lose against certain styles, it's a fact of the game. Cotto is an elite fighter. Quit being a dick.
This was so ridiculous I couldn't read the whole thing. Is it trolling or could this be real? With boxing "fans" like this, who needs corrupt judges and sanctioning bodies to ruin the sport. Typical attitude that 99% of fighters aren't any good and are far overrated. Tiresome.
ALL I would like to know is wtf does the word MEDIORIC means , maybe I would understand your post better, not that it makes too much sense anyways...btw, the Alfonso G fight was what they call a "stay-active-fight", yeah, you r welcome, glad I could teach u a boxing term.... now can u tell me what medioric means?? Thx in advance :hey
I didnt read all the crap you wrote but i know its bull**** noob. please delete ur account and jump out of ur window noob
The Corley stoppage was a hometown stoppage no doubt. But Cotto was on his way of stopping Corley, he was beginning to take over and punish his opponent. And I don't see why mentioning the fact that "he was rocked" has anything to do with Cotto being a top fighter. Top fighters don't have to be iron-chinned, or masters in defense. And sure, Cotto has flaws in defense and is definitely not Joe Calzaghe in terms of stamina, but when I think "sever lack of defense" names like Margarito come to mind, not Cotto. So, we should create a fighter with the power of Torres and the skills of Malignaggi so that you give Cotto some credit. What's wrong with fighting those guys, I don't follow you. And Quintana isn't a C minus fighter, C- fighters don't win championships by beating guys like Paul Williams and do it convincingly. And should we criticize Pac for fighting David Diaz then? He was as overmatched by Pac as Gomez was overmatched by Cotto. Fights like those happen and they are entertaining, I don't see what's wrong with that or why one should criticize the winner. A fighter can't always fight elite opponents, one needs tune-up fights etc. You're right. He shouldn't have fought Margarito. Who was Margarito anyway? Doesn't matter that almost everybody was excited about that fight and wanted to watch it. And of course up to the point that Cotto faced the unknown Margarito, he had only fought bums as you suggest. This part of your post is the epitome of objectivity. Personally I expected Margarito to win it, but I was hoping for a Cotto win. The reason why Cotto lost and lost badly was that his game plan was horrible and he let it all out in the early rounds, so he gassed out later. Mosley on the other hand executed the perfect game plan against Margo, by being patient, staying in the center of the ring and going to the body. This underlines the really bad strategy of Cotto in that fight. And as you see, I'm not even taking the possibility of "loaded gloves" into consideration here. Let me get this straight: You're actually blaming Cotto for fighting Clottey? And you want people to think of your opinion as credible? Clottey was and still is a top welterweight, who'll make anyone he faces look bad. As for the Jennings fight, I haven't seen many fighters take the beating of their life (Margo fight) and then immediately face elite opposition. The guy needed time to recover from that really bad loss. But it seems that everything he does is wrong for you. Good for you that you can predict the future. I wonder if you'll still be around if Cotto beats Pacman. I sure will be, even if Cotto loses and even if he retires, as you suggest.
