If anything else pac turns it up on the later rounds. Maybe not as ferocious on the first 3 rounds. Pac also tends to slow it down on the middle rounds ( 5-8 ). Cotto has to win this in the middle rounds. Get that jab and body punches going. Because if this thing goes past 8 rounds, Cotto WILL be gassed out and Pac will murder him.

So your first fight you saw of Cotto was him against Corley so of course you did'nt have a good first impression of him but it was Corley who kept taking a knee so the ref gave him what he wanted which was a way out similar to how Cotto wanted a way out of the Margo fight. And oh yeah Floyd Jr. got rocked twice by Corley in their fight but I don't see you critisizing him for that.

Say what you want about Abdulaev but the man was a 2000 Olympic Gold Medalist and a pretty decent pro and Cotto fought him and made him quit. Torres was'nt able to finish Cotto but I think Cotto was probably the reason for that don't you think?.....And Torres has proven himself to be a lower level world class fighter who was able to pick up a piece of the world title. Quintana is a B- level fighter and Cotto also made him quit but he has also gone on to win a piece of the world title for a quick minute. Same with Malignaggi. Branco and Urkal were mandatory fights he had to take so there's no shame in fighting them, every good to great fighter has had to take those fights.

The Gomez fight was obviously a stay busy fight just so it can set up the showdown between him and Margarito. How can anyone critisize Cotto for fighting Gomez when he took on Mosley the fight before and Margarito the fight after is beyond me.

Yes he lost to Margarito so whats your point?...He still took him on when others were'nt so keen on doing so.

So Cotto fought Jennings for a vacant title, but he immediatly fought Joshua Clottey whom many thought was dangerous and could even knockout Cotto, and on top of that Cotto fought on with a nasty gash in that fight but of course you won't mention that because it does'nt suit your agenda.

So calling Cotto resume shitty is just you simply trolling right about now.

Two plus years ago Berto was still very early in his prospect stages and had yet to face a world class fighter so nobody was looking forward to that fight then and even now most don't care for that fight.

Cotto has ducked no fighter at 147 with the exception of Williams but then again who is'nt ducking that freak of nature, so to critisize him is laughable.

You discredit Cotto in everyway possible in your thread, practically calling him a bum, but you think Cotto can beat Pacquiao..:huh

Cotto, if anything, is underrated. His resume is very impressive. He has beaten many undefeated fighters and he beat them in an impressive fashion.

Keep it real? stfu. Quintana a c minus fighter with no power? Obviously you haven't watch Quintana fights before except fighting Cotto.

Benny made a thread that after Cotto beat these fighters Maussa, Torres, Quintana, Paulie they became world champions. Hell Mosley destroyed Margarito and this was way after Cotto beat Mosley. To called Quintana c minus fighter just shows you're an idiot poster.

What your trying to do can be done to any fighters resume quite easily. I find it amusing people are ACTUALLY trying to rip up Cottos resume, when if you want to compare his 140 and 147 resume, ill GLADLY compare it to just about ANY active fighter..... who you want to compare it to? Williams? MAYWEATHER (lol!!!) who? Theres probably Mosley as hes been having superfights since before cotto was even a pro..... no comparison. but any other fighter.... you bring their welterweight resume and ill put it against cottos.... hell ill put Hatton in there, Clottey in there, Margarito,

heres another way to look at it for those not getting it.....

THIS IS THE TOP 10 WELTERWEIGHT FIGHTERS IN THE WORLD

    1. Shane Mosley - Beat by Cotto
    2. Miguel Cotto
    3. Joshua Clottey - Beat by Cotto
    4. Antonio Margarito - Fought by Cotto, Margarito won with doubts raised about using plaster
    5. Andre Berto
    6. Carlos Quintana - destroyed by Cotto
    7. Luis Collazo
    8. Isaac Hlatswayo
    9. Zab Judah - destroyed by Cotto
    10. Vyacheslav Senchenko

So out of the top 10 welterweights in the world...... theres only FOUR fighters Cotto has NOT fought

He has also fought (or will fight if i include pac) Three of the top 10 at 140lbs too..... when he fought there, thats not including the fighters that were actually IN the top 10 when he was there, those are only the three that are STILL in the top 10 from years ago.

As for him fighting guys with power, Bailey, Judah, Margarito, Mosley and Torres come to mind....

You mention Abdalaev..... you realise that fight was actually a very decent win for cotto in his still young, blossoming career? Abd had just recently beaten him in the olympics.... there is more to that fight then just the names you read on boxrec. That win was an important win for cotto... yet you say 'REALLY' to it, oblivious of the fight itself and of the importance behind it.

alright, alright.... lets look at records then, since you seem to be keen on that sort of thing

    Maussa - UNDEFEATED
    Pinto - UNDEFEATED
    Torres - UNDEFEATED
    Malignaggi - UNDEFEATED
    Quintana - UNDEFEATED

IMO, any way you slice it...... any attempt to try and discredit Cottos resume is laughable at best, and i wasnt going to respond but i guess i couldnt help myself.

Cotto has one of the most impressive resume in todays boxing. He is always fighting the toughest possible opponent. Cotto's resume in last 3 years is far better than Pacquiao for example. Thread starter is complete noob.

Cotto's average. 7 years ago he would have been an average welter, a gate keeper. Certainly not elite.
