But you're speaking at a time when holding an alphabet belt no longer gurantees tv coverage... People are quickly giving up on them and embracing The Ring magazine title. Even if Ajose wins the WBC strap it won't do anything. He will still only appear on UK television. He needs to make people sit up and notice him. If I was his manager I'd take him over to the US for 5-6 fights on ESPN's FNF and get people talking about him. That's the only way he will get the big fights.
He could have another 50 figts but none of them are likely to be meaningful after his 34th birthday. Say he has 3 fights a year, that only gives him 12.
Maybe not, but then again neither has Ajose. Olusegun won the ABU title in 2004, in 2006 it was won by another fighter. So for the last 3 years at the very least he's not been African champion. You've stated this before, and you seem intent on misrepresenting the truth in order to enhance his standing.
I've seen one fight of Dan that a former poster sent me. Looked a solid technician, but somewhat lacking in power and explosive ability. Olusegun has the style to beat him pretty well, but Dan is easily his best opponent I'd have thought, which tells you something about how long its taken Ajose.
I am a big believer in that you only lose the title when you are defeated in a title otherwise you remain the man.
Ajose should call out Hatton. Easy fight and a good payday plus it would give him a chance to shoow case his amazing talent to a larger audience.
I have a lot of time for Ricky Hatton. I really do and I will continue to maintain he is a great lad. The fact that he fought PBF, Tyzu and Pacman tell you all you need to know about the quality of the man. I would take the fight immediately if it gets made but we don't know whether he will even fight again. Call me sentimental I would like Hatton to fight Amir Khan and stop him which I know he would.
olu g ? whats the score with the brit strap? is ajose givin it up to go for this eliminator? surely he couldnt take both these fights on (daws then dan) and wouldnt be allowed to challenge at world level without a relinquish, or is this different seen as it's just an eliminator ?
Olu, I don't rate Khan at all. He'll need to be a splicing of Sweet Pea/Benitez to protect that glass jaw he's got forever. Personally I think either Cotto will win in the first three rounds or Pac will win in the championship rounds or on points. :good
