or what about kids who's parents think boxing is stupid and dont want to waste 50 dollars... just like my parents used to do with old wwf pay per views...

little kids can just roll right up in the theater no problem

    Exactly
And fans at sports bars don't tear each other's heads off.
Some movie theatres even serve beer

Screw the riot squad. You might have to call in the national guard. Mexicans and beer = a fight on a regular day, now add blacks to the equation, and bad blood . . . and darkness. Ahhhhhh, ****. Somebody's liable to die.

I'm with you. I'll go in the winter if there's a big fight I wanna see and no one else I know wants to shell out for it. I say the winter so I can sneak in my own liquor, concealed under my coat. ****it. I'll get tanked, watch the fights on a huge screen in HD w/ one of my boys and it'll be all good.

what fight that isnt a summer blockbuster would be big enough to show them in legitimate movie theatres without
    losing tons of money?

listen, assuming that the fight isn't held at every movie theatre in a given area, which it wouldn't, simply because there arent enough fans these days to accomodate many theatres, the ONE, or TWO, at most, movie theatres showing the fight, would be undoubtedly overstuffed like I said, at least in my city and other cities. it would be pointless to do it out in the boondocks, there wouldnt be enough of a projected profit. Im thinking logically.

If im broke, have no job, have a tiny little ass tv, have an uncomfortable house, have no tv...etc etc I probably suck and doesnt care about boxing anymore, i'd be out looking for something to eat:yep

Seriously, its being done here, every Pac fight, a few Movie houses opens early in the morning 6am, to show the fight live! people actually went the first few times, but were complaining afterwards. It will be rowdy, so dont bring the kids, NO alcohol allowed, as the theatre may end up a mess afterwards, clashes of fans may likely happen.

This will likely be successful at first, because its a new thing and some would go just for the heck of it. It wont last that long tho. Nothing beats watching it LIVE, at the comfort of your home with friends and family, Sports Bar with the goons, etc.

Again your not thinking out of the of the box. Lose what money? its not that expensive to show a fight at a movie theater. There are plenty of movies that bomb at theaters. Does that stop movie producers from showing their other movies in the theaters. Ugh no.

Boxing needs another outlet besides Showtime, HBO, and whatever else. And since the promoters don't have the balls to show boxing on free television. This is the next best thing.

ugh, your wrong? Thats the reason sequels dont get made buddy, when it bombs. If a movie bombs, studios lose money, lots of money, intended to be repaid through ticket sales. it would be the same loss for the production companies that sponsor circuits to tons of movie theatres for a low profile fight that wouldnt sell. and dont go saying they could limit the amount of theatres, because then, there wouldnt be enough money to be made, which would make top boxing promoters give a great big HELL NO:good to the idea, guaranteed.

it isnt the next best thing because they would have done it already, they know that its illogical considering the other options people have and use in excess to view the fight

Oh and the fight with Oscar doesn't count ..
