Mayweather vs Marquez To Be Shown Live @ Movie Theaters!!!

Stupid the only reason people make sequels is to cash in on the originals success. They do the same **** and people eat it up. Sequels don't happen in boxing. Only if the fight is one sided. Which would explain why "Holmes vs Cooney 2" never happened. Nobody wanted to see Holmes beat the crap out of Cooney for 12 rounds again. Before you bring up boxing trilogies like Ali and Frazier. Please note that all those fights were different. First fight was back and forth action till the end, second fight was a boxing classic by Ali, and the third was Frazier and Ali nearly killiing each other in the ring.

They already have. They used to show fights in theaters in the old days. They're already doing it in Canada and they seem to be successful at it.

And what other option are those. Not many people can afford Showtim, HBO, or PPV. People can try online. But the drama is gone since we already know the results. Boxing promoters don't do it, because their out of touch with this generation. Theirs a reason why theirs no "young" fans in boxing. They have no place to watch it. Now they do.

Look at UFC, they have an outlet for their sport besides PPV. And they seem to be doing just fine since their kicking the crap out of boxing in business.

I alswys thought that showing PPV events at cinemas would be a good idea. Kind of like what they would do back when most people only had radios to listen to.

I suppose it is another turnstile for the promoters but I would much prefer to watch it at a pub and have a pint or two.Mayweather isn't that big of a draw and I see this as a monumental FLOP.
I still believe that the UFC 103 will crush Mayweather for home PPV's and especially at bars.That is the real reason I believe they are going to movie theatres.The bars are already booked solid with the UFC.:deal

theres a list of about 150 movie theaters across the states that are showing it first of all

2nd of all this is a calculated risk... you dont think the movie theaters would do research into this before making an investment like this? they have statisticians who work for companies who handle **** like this... at the price of 15 dollars and the selective locations they chose i have no doubt in my mind that this will be a big success any one who thinks other wise hates floyd or doesnt really know **** about business

like what are you talking about... check the list.. there showing them in like 6 locations in new york... one is in white plains and i forget the rest but none of them are in any boro of ny

all the things your talking about is preferential or unpromised

- bar being more comfortable is a preference
- home being more comfortable is a preference
- complaining is preference
- a fight is unpromised....

at the end of the day 15 dollars is a lot better on your pockets than 50

 

I'd watch it in a theater. I'll just sneak in a beer or two and enjoy the show on a gigantic screen with great a sound system. More fights should be done like this. I'm all for it.

 

They do at some. There's a movie theater by my house that serves beer, margaritas mixed drinks and real food. It's called the Movie Tavern but it's not a major movie chain like AMC. So I doubt they be showing the fight there.

I have the Alamo Drafthouse, sells it by the pint or the notorious "bucket of beer (six beers in a bucket)". I usually only get the bucket when watching a monster movie like the Host or Cloverfield.

it sounds cool, but i can go to my local bar to watch the fight for 5 bucks and get all the beer i want.

 

I'd go, but getting booze would be a major plus
