Now Reg me and you have had our share of diffrent of opinions in the past but I would never describe you as stupid so I know you can't possibly think that post was intelligent in anyway?......The guy is saying that Cotto avoided fighters like Campbell and Collazo. How can anyone call that an excellent post unless your trying to get under the skin of Cotto fans.

I pointed out that he made this statement and that Campbell and Young were the first to come out and say he was wrong. I find this to be highly ironic considered that Young has been benched and skewered by the media since he said this and the Redskins have tried to replace Campbell numberous times. How about Quintana who went on to beat Paul Williams? or the same Torres who went on to beat Holt?

 

When did I say it was his greatest victory? I simply pointed out the hypocrisy of pumping up limited fighters like Torres just because they happen to have won a paper title while dismissing guys who have won a legit title because you feel that they are limited. Don't be so quick to attack. Understand what you're attacking first.

 

Malinaggi was a good win for Cotto cos when Paulie gets motivated he is a tough opponent. Cotto up at 147 has fought (at the time) 5 top ten welters. Clottey, Judah, SHANE MOSLEY, MARGARITO and Urkal. Quintana may also have been top 10 im not sure.

At the time did people really say 'why are you fighting Mosley when mr feather fists Baldomir is out there!'

Also, the Judah win is held in about the same regard as Floyds victory because Cotto KNOCKED HIM OUT! IMO thats impressive.

Blah blah blah, shut the **** up... the point of your comment was pretty clear and made even more clear by the following posts about Floyds win over baldo etc. Refrain from making stupid comments in the first place and you wont feel the need to get all butt hurt or try and go back on them afterwards.

 

I made no mention of Quintana(even though his entire standing in the division is predicated off of one win that was brutally avenged. I guess he didn't get lucky like Baldo.:roll. Torres' "win" over Holt was highly suspect. He was down on the cards and got a very fortunate home town stoppage. Torres is a club fighter with some power. His record is mostly built up on nobodies.

 

I have no hatred for Cotto. It's not my fault that many of his fans overrate him and are oversensitive to any sort of criticism towards him.

Quintana was not in the top ten. He got in the top ten afterwards based off of one win. He's done nothing since. Judah was top 10 by default. He had lost two in a row going into that fight and was coming off basically a one year layoff. Urkal's inclusion in the top 10 is a joke. He beat two complete stiffs at WW before he fought Cotto. Margo, Mosley, and Clottey were all legit top 10 fighters. Cotto was beaten into submission by Margo and got two furtuitous decisions in front of a mostly Puerto Rican crowd in the Garden against Clottey and Mosley. If Cotto fans want to tout fighters because they're top 10 in the divison, then you must do it for every fighter. Many of you guys hate on Mayweather, but every guy he's fought since he came up from 135 was top 10 in the division or in the p4p rankings with the exception of Bruselles.

 

Cotto fight with Clottey could have gone either. Cotto clearly beat Mosley, anyone who says diffrent is just blind.
