the bottom line is this, bhop made absolutely zero effort to fight calzaghe while they were both in there prime. Bhop fans will tell you till the end of time that joe fought bhop when he was past his best, well quite frankly so was joe. Joe is the reason why bhop skipped supermiddle and went straight to light heavy, because he knew he had a better chancde against tarver than he did against calzaghe. Bhop would have made far more money traveling to england to fight joe than fighting tarver in the states. Then when they finally did fight it was because joe wanted it, not bhop. I dont care what anyone says you cannot win a fight landing 2 or 3 punches a round and that has been hopkins mfor the last 8 or 9 years. Anyone who scored that fight for hopkins is blind, it was a clear 115 112 fight for joe. I dont care if the punch's that were landed werent menacing shots, he landed more shots on hopkins than any fighter ever, including jones. the same past his prime hopkins went on to dominate, while looking better than ever against pavlik. Hopkins arguably was fighting better at this point in his career than at any other time, you cant say the same for joe with his bad hand problems. Im just sick of people who have prolly never even been a fight yet alone a boxing match getting on here and diminishing joes accomplishment against hopkins. Hopkins entering that fight was pound for pound top 3 on everyones list, but all of the sudden when joe clearly beats him, he was past it.

    CLEAN EFFECTIVE PUNCHING:
I don't consider what ever it was Joe did as punching, it sure was not effective, and the less said about it's cleanliness the better.

B-Hop landed clean effective punches, planted Joe on his butt in the 1st, and deserved the decision.

yes calzaghe clearly won, yes hopkins didn't want the fight with him earlier, yes hopkins is still probably just as good as he was at MW. can we close this thread now!

Even if Hopkins would have fought Calzaghe back in 2002 or before Calzaghe got his name known with the Lacy win, Hopkins would'nt have gotten credit for beating him because outside of the UK nobody did'nt know who Calzaghe was at the time.

Raise yourself off Hopkins' nob for a second. X did everything in his power to turn a boxing match into anything but. JC kept ad******g and Hopkins just had no answer, because his dirty tactics usually work.

Watch the headbutts Hopkins lands on Winky. No wonder Winky was so frustrated at the end of the fight.

Sure, it was a close fight, but Hopkins did not deserve to win and he is nowhere near as good a boxer as JC IMO.
