one of the worst post, which needs more research. I love it when he mentions about being "blind", the only blind one is the thread starter which is talking from a hate level. Why does a culture have to be brought up? It shows really the intentions of the post. If you want to criticize the fighter or his promoting team then do it. Start doing some more research and show me an active fighter who has a better resume than Cotto from 140 to 147, bring facts like that not opinions of hate. Calling European fighters not being elite and Puerto Rican fans blind is very ignorant and shows the level of knowledge from this individual.

Rember haters cotto ko Quintana the man who kicked Paul Williams's ass if Paul would have won that fight I would question Cotto's resume.Cotto has fought the best at 140 and 147 .At 140 he fought paulie, Torres who you must have forgatten but became world champions after they fought cotto. At 147 he fough margacheato, corley, mosley and Quintana. All of them became world champions afterwords so this BS of cotto's resume has to stop is he perfect ? hell no but he has a big heart

his post is just as bad as his original one, i just dont want to take the time to rip it up.... believe me he doesnt really make any good points outside the fact that punchers tend to brawl instead of using their boxing skills IMO.

    Good man.

Even if this loyalty sometimes keeps a fan from being objective towards a fighter he/she likes, calling that loyalty ridiculous is just wrong and degrading. I don't see why being a loyal fan of a particular fighter is wrong, when that fighter proudly represents one's country and promotes the sport of boxing. Trust me, if there was an exciting, hard-hitting, skillful Greek fighter that fought everyone they put in front of him, I would totally root for him and be a loyal fan. I repeat, that kind of loyalty does sometimes keep a fan from seeing the negatives of a fighter, but that's not always the case.

The fact that he got hit and hurt by Torres DOESN'T MEAN COTTO'S PERFORMANCE WASN'T GOOD. Torres did hurt Cotto, but I don't see how a fighter can "slap around" another one, when he kisses canvas FOUR times and then gets knocked out. You mean you wouldn't call Diego Corrales' performance good against Castillo in their first fight, just because Castillo had Corrales hurt? Yes, Cotto does get hit a lot, you won't hear me claim he doesn't have flaws. But Cotto's performance was impressive in the sense that he took Torres' best shots and then knocked him the **** out.

    Antwuan Maxx already covered this.

Many fighters don't choose to fight the most dangerous guys around before they reach their technical prime, it happens all the time. This doesn't mean one is avoiding others. And you clearly haven't done research to see who's "to blame" that Cotto never faced the names you mentioned. Cotto's resume is very good the way it is. Wins over Joshua Clottey, Shane Mosley, Zab Judah, Carlos Quintana, Paulie Malignaggi and Ricardo Torres make for a great resume in jr. welterweight and welterweight.

Cool. So do I, regarding my own favourite fighters.

You were going well with this until...

... you made that claim. Saying that Cotto of all people has a manufactured resume is laughable, and me and others in this thread have already explained why.

Wrong Benny. Mosley from day 1 have said he thought it was a draw. Unless you have a link that says "Mosley thought he lost the fight". Imo I thought Cotto vs Mosley was a real close fight that could go either way. I had it a draw in all honesty. Now Cotto vs Clottey was a close fight but it was a clear win for Cotto. I think Cotto winning the last 3 rounds got him the win.

He had the same look after he lost to Wright in the rematch but he thought he won that fight. Mosley said in the Cotto fight that he thought it was a draw. His dad thought it was a draw. Most ringside thought it was either a draw or a Cotto win. Some saying Mosley won the fight. It was a real close fight that could go either way. Cotto clearly beat Clottey though.
