I have just finished watching Cotto vs Corley and Corley could of had Cotto out of there if he was a better finisher and if he did not stand there admiring his work.

Despite Cotto outweighing Corley by 17lbs on fight night Corley was still able to catch him with a peach of a right hook and put Cotto on ***** street.

A terrible hometown stoppage and I thought the ref should of given Corley another count. He was not down from a punch, he went down to avoid the incoming and to regain his composure

I picked up on the crowd and this was one of the best fight crowds because as the commentators put it, it was a knockout crowd, they came to see Cotto knock somebody out.

When Pac and Cotto fight we can only imagine how much electricity will be in the air and I can see this being a classic fight, at 1st I hated the fight because of the catchweight but the actual fight itself will bring alot of excitement the closer it comes to fight time.

Can you imagine how the atmosphere will be, I think the crowd on the night will greatly influence how the 2 fighters fight and I am swaying more towards Pacquiao at the moment simply because Cotto can be hit with straight lefts and also fast right hooks and he will find it hard to deal with the speed but Pacquiao will have to walk through that rough neighbourhood to get to Cotto and he will be in for a rough night.

    May the best man win,

Does anybody feel that this can actually go the full 12 ?

I didnt agree with the stoppage at all.... but it was only a matter of time imo. That was cottos worst performance IMO.

That was an awful stoppage. But with the Torres fight in mind, I bet Cotto would have beaten Corley legitimately, probably on points.

Is true that it was an awful stoppage. I was furious about it but it was clear that Cotto was still gonna KO Corley later in the fight.

Did you guys noticed that Corley put Cotto on ***** street with a "right hook then roll under" sequence??

    This sequence sounds familiar...;)

    It's the same move everytime...

BTW Corley is also a southpaw... just like Pacquiao...;)

Cotto was weight drain going in Corley fight. Mosley, Judah hits harder then Corley and none of those 2 stunned Cotto that badly like Corley did but you want to know why? Cause Cotto fought Judah and Mosley at 147 pounds.

"Weight drained"?? I don't think so... Cotto fought 4 more fights at 140 after the Corley fight... Cotto was still able to make 140 lbs. one and a half year after the Corley fight... How do you explain that??

That was an amazing shot...Cotto was instantly almost out of there.

But I don't question Cotto's chin from that fight on...in the Torres fight, he showed a BRUTALLY good chin. Seeing that fight live, I thought he had his head taken off by some of those combos.

But THAT'S the fight we should be talking about, and that's the fight that tells me Cotto won't win this. Torres was a fast southpaw too...

Means he was still having trouble making the weight in which 4 of those fights, he puts on the effert of making the weight. Morales started to have trouble making 130 pounds when he fought Barrera in the third fight but it didn't stop him of continuing to fight at 130 pounds 3 more times of Pacquiao trilogy. Pacquiao started to have weight drain problems in the Barrera rematch but he still fought at that weight to face Marquez again.

Of course boxers do exert a lot of effort to make weight... It's part of the game... But using "weight drained" as a convenient excuse when a boxer doesn't perform well or got buzzed is just what it is, an excuse... It will be more acceptable if that fight will be the last in that division before this boxer moves up in weight...
