Hopkins is scared of Roy Jones

Winner takes all is always fair. If Hopkins isconfident, what does he have to lose? Jones will accept that, so why won't Hopkins if he isn't avoiding him?

 

Insulting how is that insulting ??That sounds like more of an excuse ..As shot as Jones is he still Hopkins biggest payday why not take the easy money in avenging one his only most convincing losses ??

 

More or less, you're right. But seven years down the road, they've both made their money. Bernard holding up that 60% guarantee bullsh*t still just comes across like an excuse to avoid the fight, whether it really is one or not.

 

If you think Jones will except 'winner take all' you are out of your mind.

 

Name me a professional fight where the winner took all.

 

This is business. You get what you can get. If you have the leverage, you try to guarantee yourself as much as possible. That's what Hopkins is doing. Yeah, in a perfect world, both of these egomaniacs agree to a fight but it's not.

What I do know is that Bernard would NEVER accept it.

 

Neither man would except a winner take all fight and to believe otherwise is comical.

 

I also never thought seven years ago I'd see Roy wearing a Captain Hook outfit.

60-40 to the winner is fair, 100% to the winner is highly unlikely, but also fair. Jones has said he'll let Bernard pick the judges, referee and even the venue, so I dont see what Nard's issue is?

My view is that even now Hopkins would lose, even though he's the better of the two presently. Neither has a high work rate, but Hopkins wont be able to use his feints and get off first like he did against Pavlik, so thats out. Hopkins wont be able to pressure Roy as he doesn't have the legs for it either. Hopkins I cant see outworking or outfighting Jones from the outside, so his best bet is eat some leather, get inside and try and headbutt, elbow and feign injury for a decision win.

He's not scared of Roy, he is however scared of losing to him for a second time and I think he realises Roy even now has a great chance of beating him as he's so much quicker and better at putting his punches together.

 

I mean damn, Bernard has the opportunity to not only embarrass the only man to clearly beat him, but look at him after the fight and know he barely made any money for his trouble. And with the press that would get, imagine the ticket and PPV buys?

Maybe I'm just getting too "WWE" with all this, but that would be some cold served revenge.

 

People are really moronic. No surprise. Hop fighting Roy is a high risk low reward fight. Everyone keeps saying it's high risk and low for Jones. That's the complete opposite. Jones is far more past it but stylistic he still has some speed and timing to throw Hopkins counter & wait style off. Hopkins wants to cement his legacies with Dawson/Adamek and Paul Williams fights. Not shot Roy Jones fights... if he wins what does that do for him? If he loses? Exactly...

At this point 60/40 is fair. Jones doesn't want that because of his ego. When Jones was relevant he wanted 90/10. Now Jones can't except that he's fighting Lacy and Omar Shieka and isn't at the world class level anymore.
