Does This Sit Kind Of Funny With anyone else besides me?

I would have more respect for him if he was just honest and was like

"I would like to fight who ever gives me the most money, but since nobody in 140 really offers me any money. I would like to call out one of the most washed up fighters in the sport"

cmon this is kind of silly isnt it? especially seeing how stacked up lightweight-light welter is

Diaz is trying to get paid, and Hatton is the biggest potential payday. Diaz has taken on numerous tough fighters to prove his worth and seems like it still isn't good enough. As soon as something bad happens, the fans will turn on you. Diaz needs to think about himself here and try to get paid.

    jmm abused him
paulie maliganggi (a guy ricky hatton abused) beat him clearly

this guy isnt proven for ****.... he aint in any type of position to be calling out ricky hatton... he's not even a top 3 guy in lightweight or lightwelter

I hope he gets it. Hatton would knock him out imo.

This is what I'm talking about, the guy was a 3 time champion. He gets beat by a couple of tough fighters in the form of JMM and Campbell and fans want to throw him by the wayside and say he isn't proven. This is why these fighters should be make sure they leave the sport with money and their health. You always want to please the fans, but you should worry about yourself as well. If Juan can get Hatton, I say go for it. If he takes another "L" to someone like Bradley and only gets a decent payday, the fans will forget all about him.

    Agreed completely.

But the bigger question here is whether Hatton can even make 140 anymore. Going off of fighting Paulie of all people at a catch, I can't imagine Diaz would be willing to fight Hatton at 143.

    I doubt the fight happens.

You probably should choose one argument and stick to it.

Are you arguing that Diaz should be derided for alling out Hatton because Hatton is all washed up or that he has no right to call out Hatton because Hatton is too good and Diaz hasn't proved himself?

juan diaz needs to beat more people between lightweight - light welter.. so its a combination of the things you said...

to me it would be like andre berto calling out floyd mayweather

That's not what you said in your OP at all though.

Why would you 'lose' respect for someone for wanting the biggest fights?

Thats funny coming from a PW fan.
He seems to be able to call out anyone when he really is not very well known yet and you go on here saying he is being ducked.

    A little double standard perhaps??

because he dont need to be calling out hatton....

he needs to be calling out

kahn - maidana - vic ortiz - tim bradley guys like that

paul williams prove himself after he beat margarito... he called out cotto
plus at this point paul is an elite fighter who will one day be in those kinds of fights anyways....

    juan diaz wont.....

Wait, let me get this straight...

So a natural lightweight who was badly beat this year by a career featherweight, barely got past Malignaggi at LWW, calls out the former true champ of the division who KTFO the same Malignaggi just 9 months ago, and he's probably going to the UK to Ricky's hometown to brawl with this bigger, stronger guy...

...any you lose all respect because of this?

Just WTF is wrong with you?
