He doesn't mean it that way, all he's saying is they will exploit Cotto's weaknesses. He recently called Mayweather a far easier opponent than Cotto or Mosley.

He's being honest with his assessment and backs it up with what they plan to take advantage of openly to the public. Holyfield and co. did the same before fighting Tyson twice, people praised his courage for it.

Roach is just saying what he feels, it's the haters who make it look negative.

I dont understand. Even if at 28 Cotto's skills are on the decline at this point he is still far more skillfull than Pac. When has Pac ever been a skilled technician in the ring. Lets be honest here he didnt steam roll EM in the first fight; he didnt steamroll or expose JMM in their 2 fights. Why not! Because they were both highly skilled boxers. Now all of a sudden Pac is just going to dominate a highly skilled fighter in Cotto who just happens to be bigger and stronger and just as good as EM or JMM skill wise. I am a huge Cotto fan but I am also realistic. The reality of the situation is Cotto's kryptonite will always be a fighter like Marg,Clottey, Mosley. Pacs kryptonite is fighters like EM, JMM, Cotto technicians in the ring who can flat out box.

I think Roach should stop low-ball PAC's legacy, he should say that Cotto is highly improved and more dangerous than ever but PAC is going to school him anyway.

Regarding the notion that Pac won't get "credit" because of what Roach says; I'm sorry but that's completely ridiculous. Pac gets plenty of credit. He's the number 1 p4p fighter. If no one is giving him credit for his wins, then why the hell is he a 2/1 favorite over Cotto? If I were to have proposed a fight between Cotto and Pac a year ago at 145, everyone would've laughed and said that Pac would get destroyed.

The only thing that's changed in that time period is that Pac has beaten Oscar and Rickey. So obviously many people are giving him credit for those wins. Roach said not too long ago that Floyd was too small and weak for Pac and that he would be an easier fight for Manny than Cotto. Are you telling me that Pac wouldn't get credit if he were to beat Floyd? You're crazy if don't think he wouldn't. Hell, a week or so ago Cotto said Pac wasn't physical enough to compete with him. I guess Cotto shouldn't get credit either if he wins.

    I agree.

Freddy can say whatever he wants, but I'm more interested in seeing what him and Manny come up with on fight night than hearing him trying to build his resume as Nostradamus. All he has to do is push the damn mics away.

Cotto didn't start his pro career at 15. E-Dap asked to fight Cotto at 143, and Cotto agreed to 145.

Cotto's skills are over rated. he is not the teqnical fighter that he is made out to be by so many people on this board. He walks guys down with the exception of the Mosley fight you never really see Cotto outboxing anyone. He comes forward and bangs away in a controlled manner but he is not hard to hit and not anywhere near as teqnically sound as JMM or EM.

  13. Cotto in decline? Thats ridiculous if he is. at his stage in his career he should be prime and taking on everyone.

Boxing is in bad shape right now, each of these champs are waiting for their turn on hbo + big paydays rather than fighting for the sport like real men.

Cotto has the ability to out box anyone, but Emmanuel Dapidran's speed will be too much for Cotto. Cotto will have to use defense early, get through the early round destruction...and then fight his fight If Cotto can do that, then he has a great chance to beat Dapidran.

Other than speed what edge does Pac hold over Cotto. Please tell me how is Pac more skilled than Cotto.
