IMO, Calzaghe deserves to be considered amongst the best of the 'B' level fighters such as: Castillo, Tarver, Hatton, Hamed, Casamayor, Johnson etc.

He is NOT amongst the elite, 'A' class fighters like: Lewis, Barrera, Morales, Mayweather, Hopkins, Jones, Pacquaio etc.

    Thoughts?

Castillo, Tarver, Hatton, Casamayor, Johnson etc......:patsch Joe should not be ranked along with those guy, he is much better. You really dare to compare Joe to guy like Tarver.

    :tired

Is there really much of a difference between very good and great?

Either way, Calzaghe is an elite A class fighter. That doesn't mean he's ahead of Hopkins of Jones Jr though/

So soon?, he retired at the right time, he was 37 years old. When he retired there was only one name worth mentioning and that was Dawson, it's only recently that the SMW tournament got a lot of attention and Joe was a LHW when he retired.

    Good not Great.

He has No real Power and slaps with his punches. Great Fighters dont do that.

He also embarrasses himself with his forced awkward attempts at showboating.

Not a fan of Tarver then

Tarver's best win is better than Joe's best win.

He's going on Strictly come dancing so I dont think he cares to much about embaressing himself.

I'd say very good because he never proved himself against a prime elite fighter.
He could have easily become great but he never did.
