Is Calzaghe GREAT or just VERY GOOD?

    He was very good. He looked most impressive fighting for the wbo. His last few fights I don't rate highly. People rating him as a great don't know the sport very well.

    Have to agree with the 'Great fighter, subpar resume'. I take nothing away from him for that though. Dude was/is very special...

    We will never know. Due to his own damn fault, he just didn't have any big fights until his last three fights...which really is too late.

    He should have stepped up to the grand stage when he was younger.

    He did beat Kessler... not that I consider Kessler and elite fighter but he was and still is in his prime and at the time Kessler was considered to be the toughest SMW out there. That was a huge win for Calzaghe.

    I think he was great. I dont think he proved it adequatley. His level of opposition was not as good as it should have been.
