It won't because I don't see what Dawson can do. He beat Tarver and looked vicious but not as convincingly as Hopkins 3 years prior. Joe outworked Hopkins - even with Hopkins smarts. Dawson cannot beat joe; once Joe got inside him Dawson's longer reach would weaken his inner game and Joe would feign his way inside so Dawson - in effect - would be nullified and shamed.

No, you're right your views don't hit home with me. This is my view.

I honestly don't see calzaghe "dominating" this fight..i know the majority of people on here are bias in their analysis of Calzaghe, which is fine, but Dawson has all the tools to beat him, including a good workrate for a LHW...I could see either fighter winning by a close SD, but im more inclined to pick Dawson as he packs more power in his punches (not too much more though,) and is overall a much better boxer technically than Joe C.....Bad Chad SD....

but in the same way british fans believe in calzaghe in his career american fans are doing the same with dawson....thats my take on it.

as critical i am of calzaghe's career i'm a huge fan of his ability.

he just wanted to play the "legend in his own lunchtime" crap too long and i can't respect a fighter for that...in fact its ****ing embarrassing.

EDIT : dawson's still on his way up...hes too green to judge yet.

Let's not forget Hopkins has hit his prime in his later year's and when he squared off with Calzaghe he was in fine form and had some very big win's behind him also Winky,Trinidad to mention 2 granted it was a close fight but Calzaghe deserved the win on the other hand Roy was past his prime and was well beaten however if Calzaghe had meet Roy 10 year's earlier or that version of Roy id not have been suprised if Roy had stopped Calzaghe thow id say a Calzaghe SD was possible ... anyone else got any sensable view's on this debate ?

    Oh, this argument again?

    Calzaghe easily.

Dawson would look dumber than he already does when he takes rounds off if he was in there against Calzaghe.

I'm a big fan of Dawson's skills, I think he's deserving of more attention than he currently receives considering how he beat Adamek, the tough Glen Johnson and even Tarver though old is no mug.

It's kinda hard to picture this matchup, except that I don't see any KO's because neither hits hard enough. Dawson presents Calzaghe some challenges he never faced being a taller, longer southpaw, and Calzaghe can put on the type of pressure Glen Johnson did to bring back bad memories for Chad. Except Calzaghe does it with greater speed, awkwardness and smarts, and he WILL fight hard for 12 rounds and that is where I question Chad's concentration and stamina in this matchup.
