If you're unable to articulate why he is a great fighter, then you're opinion is invalid. Thanks :good
why do you think its silly to compare him to fighters who looked to fight the best when they were notorious? you need to answer this question..because this is the million dollar one. you're assuming that joe's better (and i think he is too) but being dismissive of guys who found out in stead of relying on resumes and beating them later on to justify the career. put your balls on the line and talk to me about this.
being an online coward wont help your argument. if one of you hermits will come out of your hole and test yourself against me i'll show my quality. its all up to you - no excuses.
Why are you responding to a post that wasn't aimed at you? I quoted the other guy, and replied to his point.
How can you compare Calzaghe to B-level fighter's the man is a Great fighter no question's asked and how any true boxing fan can say otherwise is absurd , His kept his 0 his left his own country to fight the best which very view U.S fighter's can claim to have done. His clocked up win's against a far from past it Hopkins,Kesler(p),Lacy(p),Eubank(who was still a champion),Jones(Past his prime but time will tell if and when he step's up again )
The difficult thing is, IMO he's above the names of the so called B levels you list there, quite comfortably. But I'd agree he's below the other names.
I don't think he is "quite comfortably" above Hamed, but I understand what you're saying. Thats why I initially suggested he was amongst the best of that bunch, at the cusp of the elite.
Well he's definitely comfortably greater than a few on that list. I'm not even sure which Johnson you refer to :scaredas: This has been done to death and the general conclusion is that he just misses out or just about makes it, and the fact he's the best of the second tier of this generation by the looks of your OP would emphasize that point. Both arguments can be justified, especially when considering a ATG list, the very bottom end has names that can be compared next to Calzaghe quite rightly.
Great fighter. As much as I don't like his style or his lack of prime competition, there's not much point arguing that he was only "good".
Got to respect the Glengoffe. All we need now is a die-hard Johnson fan to come and argue the case for Johnson>Calzaghe :yep
