I think its a good fight not a great fight. I think that Marquez is a LIVE underdog. If Floyd isn't on his A game then expect JMM to give Floyd some serious trouble.

I don't see this fight living up to its hype. I see a fight with very little output as both guys will be looking to counter.

PBF will try to be as defensive as possible cause the lost will cost him a W and a lucrative future fight. Why risk anything if he can stick and move and win via points. Speed will be the biggest factor for PBF.

As for JMM he's going to look to counter. He's never been the aggressive one in a match and I don't see him changing that in this fight. Bad news for him is that he's also facing a counter/defensive boxer who has superior speed. PBF will hit JMM but will not be aggressive enough for JMM to time a counter.

So I see this fight as a 12 rnd unanimius decision to PBF.

Could be a good fight... but not the "megafight" or "superfight" its promoters is hyping all along... The promoters even bragging that this fight will break the all time PPV buys record in boxing...:D

A tuneup, a mismatch fight having achieved the all time record in PPV buys?? If that happens then well and good but there must be something wrong with boxing...

As if the all time record holder, the Hoya-Floyd "Stinko de Mayo" fight did lived up to expectations and then this one again??

This is my exact opinion on this fight. :good

I will add one thing to this
It's also laughable because Mosley also called him out, and he is as big,or imo a bigger draw than Marquez.

And I also hate him call himself the P4P #1 when he's fighting LW, and on the other hand the real P4P#1 is fighting one of the top welters.

As far as FMJ is concerned, this is a tune up fight for him. JMM thinks otherwise. I'm interested to see how the 2 yr. lay off will affect FMJ's legs, timing, stamina etc.

If Floyd had made this fight while still active it would have been an embarsment.

Between the layoff, the obvious statement he's trying to make for a Pacquiao fight to maximise the $$$ for a super fight between Money and Pac and Marquez' impressive 135 performances is making what would have been an embarassing mismatch more compelling.

I'd love to see Marquez upset the apple cart because if anyone deserves a big Pac payday and a 3rd fight in what has been a super tight compelling 24 rounds thus far, but it really doesn't add much to Floyd's legacy if he wins comfy or easy as people will just say he was too small.

Looking forward to it all the same.

The only greater joke than this fight is Mayweather himself, who orchestrated it.

No, its because to a great many knowleadgeable and respected boxing journalist, JMM on a round by round basis schooled Manny Pacquiao.

This fight for Mayweather is to show Pac and his team that Mayweather not Pac is the top of the heap, P4P the best......and that any fight between he and Pac is to remind the Pac team who calls the shots.

The mentality of Mayweather is that JMM beat Pac both times and he's going to show Pac and everyone how a true p4p'er does it.

Of course Marquez moving up two weight divisions and just having celebrated his 36th birthday can become detrimental to JMM.......but that has never stopped fighters like DLH from recieving accolades for beating opponents under similar circumstances.......and thats what Mayweather aims to do.
