Yep, just like when Cotto took 2 knees against Margacheato... Only that Cotto looked so beaten up compared to Corley which still looked having a fresh face...

I just read it and it was a bad response because all you focused on were the fighters that Cotto fought that were'nt big time punchers. But why don't you mention his fights with guys that do have power like Mosley,Judah,Bailey,Margarito?

You won't mention those fights because it does'nt suit your agenda to discredit Cotto's resume.

The reason...is because my thread was criticizing Cotto's "RISE" to the TOP. Yes once he established himself..he was legit...But he built that record of fighting fighters that couldn't EXPLOIT the lack of defense and him taking a ton of punches.

I scored it 116-114 for Cotto over Mosley...To me it's his best win. Clottey...c'mon..is he really a POWER puncher? Good Defense, has a nice upper-cut...but just becaue a fighter is well-built...doesen't mean he is a POWER PUNCHER!

I actually picked Cotto to beat Margarito easy...My only concern was if Cotto got hurt...Unlike Corley or Torres, Margarito can finish!!!

And then Sandwich in between was Gomez and Jennings...Well I won't touch on much of that...Cuz you know how I feel about them...

I don't have a Problem with Mosley, Clottey or Margarito...

The point I am trying to make is...His Path to the TOP was paved with Fighters who didn't offer much of a challenge!!!

Anyone can do what you did and try to cut someone resume down to size by looking at names on Boxrec. For example you discredited Cotto's win over Abdulaev and try to make it out as if Abdulaev was a bum when he is far from one, he may not have been elite but he was a world class fighter who won Gold at the 2000 Olympics. Most fighters rise to the top are not going to be against fighter who are elite that can threaten their rise to the top. But if you just look at names on a resume and not know the full backround of certain fighters then yeah one could end up with a wrong point of view.

But as I said just like you can make a thread discrediting Cotto's resume without knowing the full context of the wins he has gotten, I can make a thread trying to make his already very good resume even better by not taking everything into full account. For example check out this thread I made a week ago or so bigging up Cotto resume. In this thread I was being light hearted and not being serious but I was showing how fighters he has fought have gotten good wins afterwards but I never mentioned that they caught a bad loss after they got their good wins also but I was being light heardted in the thread so it did'nt really matter to bring it up, so here goes the link.....

I know..I saw that awhile ago...And to be honest. It kinda' inspired me to write a thread on his resume. Solely because...It was obvious, that you did'nt believe much of what you said...Thats why you wrote with a HINT of COMEDY in it.

I know we are never going to agree on MIGUEL ANGEL COTTO. But as harsh as I am on him...I still think he is a GOOD fighter. I picked him against Margarito And I am Picking him against Pacman...But he has to take it into the late rounds....PACMAN IS A VERY FAST STARTER!!! IF HE GETS HURT EARLY...ITS OVER!!!

But it really gets under my skin when someone assumes I don't like a fighter because he's Puerto Rican or Mexican or Asian....THAT **** BOTHERS THE HELL OUT OF ME!!!

Terry Norris, Zab Judah, Emmanuel Augustus are guys I love...And I destroy them on Youtube for being...Zab an idiot...Augustus for not taking the sport seriously...And Norris for Not Out-Boxing his opponents but chosing to BRAWL WITH BRAWLERS.

In fact my Favorite Boricua fighter never gets love from the Island's fight fans....LUIS COLLAZO. He is the real deal...A slick Lefty Boxer with speed, good defense only average power, but still solid.

Rumor has it...Collazo vs Torres is trying to get done for the Cotto / Pacman undercard.

They were trying for Collazo vs Spinks but Spinks said he can't make 147 anymore.

Oh everything I wrote down in that thread was all facts so it's not a case of me not believing in what I wrote it was just the title of the thread I was being comedic about because he did'nt make those guys into world title champions. But you have to admit it's still kind of impressive. Miguel was fighting gatekeepers very early in his career like how in his 9th fight he fought ****** Jukko or in his 13th fight he fought former world champion Cesar Bezan.

Are you buying the Hype of Francisco Palacios? And did you see how disapointing the Valasquez Twins Looked on ESPN2 a while back?
Or the Slim Light Welter...Hector Sanchez.

And I finally saw that Light Heavy you told me about...Carlos Negron...I hate Tall Fighters that don't fight tall. Let people just walk right into them...Instead of keeping them away with that long ass jab!!

To be honest with you I'm only a fan of three Puerto Rican fighters overall which are Tito,Cotto,Carlos Ortiz. And no I don't like any of those fighters you just mentioned, especially those funny looking twins. I'm not so sure about Negron I have to see him more to get a better feel for him.

You clearly do not see the fight and the weights in Cotto came in overweight becasue of his struggles, and had to came late to make the weight brutally drained and starved, see the fight bro.

I saw the fight video but not aware that Cotto took 4 tries to make weight... Cotto tried to maximize his size advantage for making 140 one and a half year later and 4 fights more after the Corley fight... It was Cotto's decision to still fight at 140 while having a hard time making weight... Then if Cotto was not performing well or got buzzed, his fans blamed it to the most convenient excuse, being "weight drained"...;) When in fact, that's the trade off of trying to maximize your size advantage against your opponent...
