I think you may have hit the nail on the head there. Working the show together could bring about one of the best Mundine shows in years. Grange have always tried to put together great shows whenever they can and apart from the odd night they have succeded

A real champion would of rematched Geale straight away. Wanted to fight him again to prove to the doubters & himself that he is the better fighter. Not shove fights in between against oppostion that won't test him. But no...not scandy mandy.

Mundine is just one endless supply of bull**** and contradictions:

    Mundine ready for Geale rematch
Patrick Caruana - Brisbame Times on-line
    Aug 26, 2009

Anthony Mundine has promised a rematch with Daniel Geale, saying the Tasmanian fighter has already knocked back lucrative offers.

Mundine eked out a contentious split points win over Geale, who suffered the first loss of his professional career, in May.

The Geale camp fired in a protest, citing several factors including the alleged intimidation of a judge, and the International Boxing Organisation ordered another bout.

Last month, Geale doubted `The Man's' willingness to give him a rematch, but Mundine said on Wednesday it would definitely happen.

"He's gonna get his whippin', that's for sure," Mundine told reporters in Sydney.

"Sucker talkin' about fighting me, he always runnin'."

Mundine said Geale's asking price was too high.

"It's money issues with him," he said.

"Because I'm the cash cow, they want to get more than what they would get to the highest bidder out there.

"I'm offering double or triple their money, and they don't want to fight me."

Mundine also didn't rule out another bout with Danny Green, who takes on Roy Jones Jr in November.

"If Greeny has still got that cruiserweight after Roy Jones, he knows where I'm at," he said.

    ....Oh please!

roscoe what do you call straight away champ.
By the time geale lodged the appeal, then the fight was judged by 3 independant guys from overseas, then they handed down there opinion, then the governing body agrees to demand a rematch and now mundine may go ahead.......Whats the problem.
Pros dont just meet up on a sat night for a fight.
They will both now go into a training camp situation for another 3 mths so sorry to tell you mate it doesnt happen any quicker than this.
Maybe just for you mundine shouldve rematched geale the next night because you didnt like the result:patsch

It's obvious. Sturm is a quality opponent at 160 and Mundine would have to travel to Germany so basically Anthony doesn't fancy the job. How many years has it been now since Anthony has fought an opponent as good/skilled as Sturm who is a legitimate middle ? Many many years now and Anthony is on the decline at 34 yrs old an weak as **** at the weight. Anthony will now go through the remainder of his career not fighting anyone above Daniel Geale.

    Why doesn't he fight Sturm?

Lets see. If he goes there he needs to win 10 rounds to get a mixed decision. We saw that with Chambers Dimitrenko. Chambers won 8 rounds, knocked him down twice. And yet 1 judge still gave it to dimitrenko. Sturm was dropped against the short Gevor. Sturm is not that good. Lyell would give him a fair fight.

Bringing Pavliks trainer to Australia will facilitate a Pavlik bout big time.

A Sturm rematch is also another good bout.

Lyell top 15. Geale top 5.

Im not really going to bag anyone out here. They are 2 decent match ups. And we don't even know if a Paul Williams or Wright fight is even out there. Winky can't get a fight with anyone, maybe hes pricing himself out. Williams doesn't want a big risk before Pavlik so most likely someone from 154. And Pavlik is out for now.

Theres no one else out there right now.

Sturm fought his mandatory in the last fight. Sturm has to fight Mundine by the next 7 months.
