I was wrong..he was active. When Rivera held him in a headlock and paraded him around the ring like a donkey...I knew right then he was a shell of himself..and that was before Oscar fought him. Floyd Jr was WAYYY better than that.
Oscar always had a problem with speed and lateral movement...factor in Floyd's ring smarts and you have Oscar losing.
Plus where is this great 147lb Oscar anyway? The man who couldn't get past Quartey's 1 paced jab getting seriously outboxed by an innactive Quartey who was recovering from malaria? How about the Oscar who couldn't land clean on a seriously faded past prime Whitaker? Or the Oscar who got outsped, outboxed and outfought by MosleY?
Read carefully because I am just not talking about 147 I am saying PBF would have beaten him at any time from 130- 155 pounds period. The level of PBF's performance and ODLH's prove the point. In high class PBF has been better whereas ODLH struggled. When they fought at 155 pounds PBF gave ODLH everything he wanted, gloves, ring size etc and still won clearly. The judge who made it a draw was blind.
Where the hell does this myth that Oscar lost because he didnt use his jab come from? Did you people even watch the fight. I the 4th round Manny Steward says "Oscar needs to start using his jab." That was in the 4th round, already a quarter away in the fight and Oscar is not using his jab. Oscars jab was a none factor in the fight. Mayweathers jab however was on point and landed at will. Btw, SD was a joke. Find 7 rounds to give Oscar. I dare you.
I have Oscar pulling an Oscar. What is an Oscar, you ask? Being slightly ahead after 9-10 rounds then pissing it away at the end.
This question is kind of hard to answer because their primes were at different weights. Floyd was at his best (prime) when he was fighting at 130 and 135, Oscar's prime was when he was at 147. So if the fight was at 147 I would take Oscar (because let's face it, Floyd only moved up to 147 for money not becuase he couldn't make the weight anymore), but if the fight was at 135, or even 140, I would take Floyd although it would be very close.
I have to question how many of you have actually seen DLH in his prime, given some of the ridiculous comments in this thread
The only weight Hoya should be a favorite is 147 and even then if would be hard for him. Floyd's style just presents a lot problems, not to mention at the lower weights Floyd would be quicker, more mobile, and active.
