Floyd's been out for a long time now, and whilst I wouldn't say a gym rat like him would be carrying a heavy amount of ring rust, he still needs to test whether his timing and reflexes are where they need to be.

Now JMM (as brilliant as he is), is a perfect opponent for his first fight back. He'll be competitive enough to keep Floyd on his toes, but at the same time he will be too small and too slow to seriously trouble him. Not to mention the huge fanbase JMM brings with him, resulting in a healthy payday for just a tune up fight.

My prediction, FLoyd without a worry of getting hurt or caught too often, boxes his way to a UD, or possibly a late stoppage.

This fight sucks, I agree. It's definately a youtube momemt though when I get curious enough to see what happens when a good small fighter goes up two divisions to get smacked around by the big fighter.

    Agreed.

I'd be lieing if I said I wasnt hoping that Marquez would KO Mayweather, but anyone who's been following Mayweather for more than 3 years knows that he only picks fighters that he knows he can beat...

I can only wish that after Floyd demolished JMM, JMM will have enough left to fight either Luis Collazo, Berto, or Hlatshawyo... at welterweight...:D

Boxing circles and making your opponent miss is what boxing is about. Charging in wide open is what club fighters with no skill do. Even wondered why the zero defense style doesn't make it far in the amateurs?

It's fine for what it is which is a test run to see how strong Floyd can draw on his own and how far his skills have eroded (if they have) against a somewhat relative name opponent.

They just need to hope the public doesn't see through it.

That's what the promoters were banking at, that the public will be fooled once again... Remember the Hoya-Floyd "Stinko de Mayo" superfight? Did it live up to expectations? NO... but it did a great PPV revenue, in fact it became boxing's all time PPV record holder...

I hope the public learned its lessons... so that at least boxing can be proud of its superfights that can really be classified as epic, classic fights... Not some fraud joke fights...

bwa ha ha  mate, it doesn't work that way in boxing... it's been proven many times, for example Taylor beat Hopkins then Pavlik beat Taylor so with your logic Pavlik should beat Hopkins?? I think you're aware that Hopkins defeated Pavlik...

In boxing, styles makes fights... PAC and JMM are totally different styles... Floyd will not learn about PAC's style by fighting JMM... It's only you and Floyd who believed that...:rofl
