if PW was to survive one of those bombs then he would win UD, but a big chance he gets laid out

the fact that this is PWs best weight would give him a better chance

Tough call, though I see my boy Paul toughing it out, after being caught with a bomb early. Williams by 10th round TKO.

there are really a lot of too tough questions of this type in this and the classic forum lately , only about a minority i have an opinion. about this one - i will also prefer not to answer. either it's a stupid question - like the frazier/fitzsimmons or a too tough like this , the watson-mcclellan the holyfield-ali , and i think more.
i think that only those who have a strong opinion will answer , but in questions like this one - i believe that unless they are true experts - freddy roach's level or about it , then they are filling this forum with garbage. i don't think that there are so many here that are in roach's level though.

    correction :
i meant only those with strong opinions 'should' answer , not 'will'.

haha i'd love to oblige but jackson's one of my favourite's. overall, jackson's skills are underrated but still not quite world class. without his punch, he would have been in deep trouble at the elite level. having said that, he had fast hands, threw good combinations and had adequate footwork. on the downside, he didn't have the strongest of chins, could be out-finessed (ala Graham) and was not that fast of foot.

154 is the best weight of both these fighters in my opinion. Even though we haven't seen much of paul at this weight I tend to think he could dominate JMW. However, I know Jackson could and did dominate (however briefly) 154 during his prime. I see this going the way of most Jackson fights: he stings Williams early who then goes into pure boxer mode. Paul has great footwork and a tremendously fast and effective, if sloppy, right jab. He'd put distance between them and picks up points with occasional flurries but constant activity.

By round 6 he's well ahead on points but Jackson is drilling the body when the opportunity presents itself. Slowly but surely, Paul's workrate goes down even as Jackson is hurting himself. Paul is less concerned with putting beef on his shots than piling up points, which he does. However, as the fight progresses Jackson has taken less damage as every one of his shots is meant to hurt. Williams starts to get sloppy, flinging and winging his shots hoping his reach compensates. And it does until the ninth. Midway through the round Jackson steps inside those long arms and nails Williams with a right and down he goes.

Williams is up at 4 but still wobbly, Jackson becomes a patient predator, puts Paul against the ropes and pounds at him with hooks and crosses until a right hand leaves him limp and defenseless, the referee stopping it 2:43 into the round.

i got PW by UD. i think he stays on the out sid efor this one and he seems to have good wiskers so i got him by ud 116-112. jackosn makes it exciting in the first 4 bu then gets out worked on the out side plus i don't think PW would try and trade with Jackson. PW gots some good pop himself to get Jackson respect.

    As with anything Jackson related...
Survive his onslaught & you win.

As many flush shot's as Williams takes tho... I'd say bet on Jackson.
Willy has shown a pretty good beard thus far, But Julian didn't/don't play.

    Jackson by early K.O.

As soon as anyone at 154 gets buzzed or knocked down, a Julian Jackson thread is made.
